System Shock Remastered

A new demo for this is up on Steam. The Linux depot has also been updated recently, so maybe the Linux version is new, too.

Can't check, unfortunately, as it crashes on launch for me, both on AMD and Nvidia gfx. The Nvidia card gets a little further, as it shows the studio logos, but then fades to a white screen and that's that. So maybe it is new, as I remember playing the demo that was available a few years ago.

Considering how Underworld Ascendant came out this is the SS I want to play and not SS3 from OtherSide.

both Steam and GOG list this new demo as windoze-only...

as for SS3 - does OtherSide even work on it still?

GOG would, wouldn't they? On Steam there are Linux system requirements listed, it downloads and on running Steam doesn't say it'll be run with Steamplay. It then crashes and and UE4 asks to submit a bug.

Yeah I didn't check the steamdb and just went by the Store icon. Not really used to this wonky steam stuff (don't have the client installed).
Indeed Linux stuff seems to be there - https://steamdb.info/app/482400/depots/
I wonder why it's listed as 3 GB larger than windoze

It must be the code making sure it crashes on startup.

ha.. I'd check it out (tho my specs are admittedly on the lower edge of what's needed for a UE4 game), but CBA to install Steam and the Linux version is MIA on GOG

Having the same white-screen problem on my system. I have an Nvidia GTX 1660 with 440.66.15 driver. There are quite a few reports on the Steam forums, too.
