Super!

It's a 23.1 GB download so it shouldn't take too long.

The game had pretty good ratings. Would love to take a look myself.

Cool, but maybe Valve is just trolling us with Tomb Raider and Mad Max.

GREAT!!! Because I really need to win the game, and I hate booting into Windows... at this point if I boot into Windows I end up playing Elite: Dangerous.

What's the next surprise: Batman?

That's one impressive lineup of 90+ scores!

I'll get this baby the instant I see the Linux version is available.

Thanks. :) I'm curious to hear what you both think once you've given the demo/game a try.

Thanks for (yet another ^_^ ) great review of a DRM-free game! I like the genre, and at the requested price it was an instant buy, despite your 'warnings'. I'll see how I get along with the game....

Quoting: subAs AMD user I'll most likely have to play it under Windows.

You'll can buy it on the Feral store, then play it under windows :p
Why buy it on Feral store, to reward their bad decisions? They should feel the sting of their incompetence.
Or maybe you should buy an Nvidia card to punish AMD? Feral doesn't write AMD's drivers, so there's no point punishing Feral for something that is out of their control.

I was wondering about that myself. They're aware of the problem in Eurotruck Simulator 2 and have said they're working on it, but no fix yet.
There seems to be a general controller issue on Linux. I got opentrack head tracking working via my Android phone, which sets up a virtual controller at /dev/input/js2 but ETS2 does not see it at all.
Here's the email I received from them regarding ETS2:

QuoteHello,

We are aware of the fact there is an issue with controler detection - our developers are currently working on a fix that will resolve this issue.

Best regards,
SCS Software Tech Support
That was about a month ago, so they're definitely aware of the problem. I'm just not sure why it's taking them so long to fix it.

Cities: Skylines - Snowfall release date and price announced

Can we ask if any Linux/SteamOS performance improvements will be there?
With large cities the game is performing poorly even on high spec setups... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylqySJ1LM9Y

Looking forward to this.

Cities: Skylines was a great game and After Dark a gorgeous expansion.

XCOM ran perfectly fine with the open source drivers on my AMD HD6950, so there is that.
It was one of the first games I didn't even try out on Windows, because the performance on Linux was so good :)

Still no time these days, so I'll probably wait, although I do love XCOM.

It's obviously not an issue if these updates on SteamDB are from today.

My only concern was to buy or not to buy....
But I know at the end that I will buy it and not play it at all.... :(
I tried hard and I mean very hard to play EVERY single turn based game/Strategy and so on that has ever been released.
I haven't even finished XCOM , I think I played mission 1 or tutorial and quited because I got bored ... :O

I just find all that kind of games extremely boring. sometimes I even fall asleep while playing these kind of games... :'(
I grew up in the Golden Arcade Era so I guess that is why...

They also porting Two Worlds I and II for Linux. Some time ago (on the now-defunct Polish game site) I read that one of redactor talked with the developer Reality Pump. They already have early and running experimental versions of Two Worlds II for Linux in OpenGL. They added that they will make native version these games that they can, the rest will be in WINE.

So long as I don't have to think about the fact that it's wrapped in WINE, the porting method is fine with me for older games. GOG offers Flatout 1 and 2 in this way and the game installs just like any other + is preconfigured so a buyer hardly has to know that it's a WINE port.

Quoting: berillionsSo with my GtX 970m which have ~ the same performances than a 770, I Will have the possibility to play with maximal settings.
I've seen the desktop GTX 960 slightly outperform the mobile 970m. So the 970m is probably not as fast as a 770. And in any case, I don't think the recommended setup is supposed to be able to max out everything.

It should be noted that The Cynical Brit put out a WTF Is video for XCOM2 yesterday. He loves the game but did note that there are bugs and performance issues with significant frame drops. Even he couldn't max the game out at 1080p, and TB has a beast of a machine with a Titan X. So unless the Linux port is better than the Windows version, which would be awesome, I wouldn't expect anybody to be able to max this game out at the moment.

I'm keen on this. I saw a tram. Only recently added After Dark to my game, which improved the experience, even without the extra 'stuff'. Will probably wait for a sale though.

Topware said they will Wine wrap their games for OSX and Linux some time ago. They did so for OSX already, so it is time for Linux :) I'll be glad to repurchase Jagged Alliance 2 Wildfire, Septerra Core or Jack Orlando :)

I haven't played Cities: Skylines at all, but given that I live in a place that tends to get a lot of snow, I'm interested in seeing how the game handles snow management. I'll keep an eye on this one.
