So much for preservation, the classic Delta Force games are getting delisted

I think that, when a deal is struck, licensing an item (music, audio, artwork) to be used in a medium such as a video game, that license should never expire. In Theory, it doesn't on physical media, but that rule should also apply to any digital media as well. I'm not big on Piracy, luckily, I already own the disc versions of games like Ghost Recon and Delta Force, but if I am ever in a position where I cannot use that media anymore, I support the right of the people to re-acquire such media.

initial D3D12 support for OpenVR
I'm happy to see literally any movement forward at all on VR for Linux. That's the final hurdle keeping me dual booting windows.
Yup. As soon as I can play Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR with a smooth framerate, I can pretty much nuke my Windows Install.

I'd love to go back to Ubuntu on my laptop but...ugh Snaps....just no. Until then, It's either Linux Mint or OpenSuse Tumbleweed for me for my Desktop and PopOS for my laptop.

Stealthy platformer Kiyo in need of Linux testers

Everyone has their knickers in a twist but in reality, Proprietary is the logical and correct term to use in this case. The engine is close sourced. That doesn't matter and shouldn't matter. DOOM, DOOM II, Quake and Duke Nukem 3d were all closed source programs, but the devs let the users utilize similar if not the same tools (Build Engine - Ken Silversmith) for instance to create their own levels. Did it matter? No. we all played those games. We didn't care that the engine was closed source.
The dev is asking for help testing the game so that it can run it's best on Linux, and we as a community are more concerned that they called their engine "Proprietary."

Quoting: thelimeydragonI think DOSBox-X is still my preferred fork of Dosbox.
May I ask why? Just out of curiosity honestly. I've tried DosBox-X and it didn't seem to mesh well for me.

Hopefully this fixes the KDE freezing issue upon re login from sleep. This was a big problem for me with Driver 545 and Kernel 6.15. I'll probably install OpenSuse again if so. Moved to PoP OS for now.

Linux Mint 21.3 released with Cinnamon 6.0 and experimental Wayland support

I absolutely love Linux Mint. I've been an avid user of OpenSuse Tumbleweed lately but This might be a good reason for me to finally drop back to Mint for my Gaming PC. I love how Mint was always so easy to use and for the most part, I could expect it to just work. Had trouble with LM 19 for a bit but that was about it.
