What have you been gaming on Linux recently? Come have a chat

I have started over Iratus: Lord of the Dead a few weeks ago, after having played an hour or so when somewhere in April.
The game has got me hooked, lots of things to try and unlock in this game

Next will probably be Carrion, which I recently bought on sale.

I have also tried a few demos, and a few games ended up in my wishlist:

- HellCard, based on the Book of Demons universe, the gameplay mechanics with allies are a nice addition to the card battle genre

- Plot of the Druid, funny point & click

- Empires of the Undergrowth, a mix of Dungeon Keeper and Swarm Assault (kinda...). Unfortunately, the demo seems to be outdated compared to the current state of the game, so I watched some let's plays to find out more about the content. In the demo, you don't have access to upgraded units, so some missions are quite difficult, and I couldn't finish some.

Anyway, it's nice to see demos back, in those times of pay-to-be-beta-tester.... Maybe this will bring back the magazines with tons of demos on a CD, from back in the days ?

I am not particularly interested in the game, but the animations are amazing !

Quoting: PsyringeDoes anybody remember "Swarm Assault" game? Such a great game, so many memories. I would be thrilled if there was a remake.
Haha, yes, it was a fun game

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 free to keep, Total War: WARHAMMER II free for the weekend + more

Quoting: toojaysIs Sonic 2 worth playing if I already have Sonic Mania?
If you have never played the old Sonic games before, it could be worth it. You might discover a lot of references that were hidden in Sonic Mania

Quoting: 14Too bad my friend and I can't even get past the first campaign mission
Why not?
There is a time limit to complete the objective. The objective requires an enormous amount of food stored. One of the failures, we didn't even know how much food we needed. Another, we ran out of time.
No offense but maybe you did something wrong...

I finish the History Mode in Hard (at a moment where it was harder than now). If I remember well, you don't need food amount in the first mission... You just need to discover and get north of the map then build a Drakkar Dock. Nothing else...

Like this then you win :
I second that... I haven't played Northgard since a long time, so I started the campaign again and did the first mission. Just went to the indicated region and built the docks. If there were any other requirements, they are probably low enough that I could get the mission done without even knowing about those requirements.

Northgard is a very cool game, I just bought another copy to send a friend to play with

The weekend chat - what have you been playing?
14 Sep 2020 at 4:08 am UTC

While I was approaching the end of Undead Horde, I was thinking "it would be nice if this game had a "New Game Plus" mode).

Turns out, it has... So I have been playing another playthrough on Era 2, and now I am in the middle of the Era 3 (it seems there are 5 eras... I guess there is only one way to find out  )

Apart from that, it seems I ruined the boot section of my laptop, trying to install EndeavourOS. I get a strange Grub command line... The good news is, when typing exit, Windows proceeds to boot normally, so at least it is still usable.

You know the sequel has a native Linux version? Great game, with lots of extra content available.
Yep, I bought it almost day one, but haven't played it yet. We were supposed to discover the game with 3 friends... and then there was lockdown

Quoting: onurBPlaying a lot of Unrailed together with friends on the couch and even over remote play together. Awesome game which surprisingly everyone who plays seems to like. Absolutely recommend :D
Forgot to mention Unrailed as well, but it is fun indeed !

Quoting: TobyGornowsmall question : How do you motivate yourself to work on your personal project ? I'm currently in a high procrastination period, so much It's been a month or more since I've touched my two Godot project I've got on the burner. Same with my music, I pick my guitar for 5 minutes, scratch it a little and put it back. What's your trick ?
Maybe it's just a period... Really busy at work.
Unfortunately, I am king of unfinished projects (I probably have ~40 projects in Ableton Live, and only 3-4 that I finished). It all comes down to what you want to do with the result: for me, I am more interested in trying weird stuff, rather than producing full songs. What do you want to do with Godot ? Self-learning ? Showcase ? I usually find it easier to finish something when I have a clear idea of what I want to do with it.

Also, sometimes it is just enough to simply open your project, see where it's at, and take it from here

I tried demos of Unbound: World Apart and Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart of the Forest

- Unbound has some very nice graphics and atmosphere, and some clever puzzles, but I tend to get a little bored after a while. If you enjoy this kind of game, you should definitely give it a try though.

- Werewolf, well, I tried it because it was the only visual novel-like game that made me install it and want to play it, but it is too slow. Nice atmosphere though.

- Once more, I made a friend discover Overcooked [External Link]. This game never disappoint

- Finally, I bought Undead Horde on sale, and this game has got me hooked the whole Sunday. It's a simple gameplay, but very fun (and way easier than Iratus )

As for the gamepad, my several Xbox 360 controllers work perfectly, even the one included with my Xbox 360, around 15 years ago. I do have an Xbox One controller as well (the lovely Sea of Thieves edition [External Link]), but the detachable cable tend to cause disconnections, and on wireless mode, some buttons are not mapped properly (notably the map button), which is why I still rely on the trusty 360s.

No much time to play this week (did a few more runs on Wizard of Legend), but, like Liam, Children of Morta and switching from Manjaro to EndeavourOS are on my ToDo list
