Well, I'll just move to distros that don't support these ill advised age verification legislation, if needed. Already started moving over to other socials slowly but surely, even started using https://hey.cafe/ [External Link] which is kind of facebook, but without all the garbage and ads. Still small, but at least fairly open and not based in the US. :)

I won't monetarily support there products. If they do bring there products back to PC I will buy them, until then, I will wait or watch a video of the entire thing. This has nothing to do with low sales, and the low sales are due to there ports not being the greatest, and despite what they say, it has everything to do with pushing up there console hardware sales and playstation store sales where they don't have to pay steam a cut. Honestly, I hope Steam Machine shows them the error of there ways but until that day the only power we have is to vote with our wallets.

No, will not touch this with a ten foot pole even though I want to play it. Now that Playstation will no longer being bringing there first person titles to PC I will no longer be purchasing the games they make or publish as a matter of principal.
Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash

I use a local LLM model to help plan out stuff I'm going to code or if I run into an issue I can't solve and need help figuring out a way to implement it that I might not have considered, but I avoid agentic AI like Claude Code as I find more often than not it just ends up producing garbage as you run out of context very quickly even with the big cloud models.
I have no problem if someone wants to use it in there application, but you have to be open about it and be willing to deal with the fact some folks won't use your program and will look down on your code for obvious reasons.
Also, I find that very quickly you can get to the point where the AI has generated so much code that even an experience programmer can lose track of how the code base interacts with everything, especially in the case of something like Lutris with so many moving parts (Wine, DVK, etc).

Won’t be using discord anymore, even though I use it for a few different groups I follow around Odin Programming language. Don’t trust that they will be able to protect our data.

The biggest difference I found is the 1% lows in games. Essentially eliminates any kind of stutters in most games. Also games that are really CPU bound like Minecraft see huge improvements. To be fair though, unless you really need other features of AM5 or need other upgrades, it is probably overkill for most folks.
I did it mostly as I don’t plan to upgrade for awhile, USB4, PCIE 5.0 M2 NVME.
Honestly I could have probably got by with a 5800x3D but those are hard to find these days.

Yes, this is the reason I went with a 9800X3D when upgrading from my 3900X. Despite having fewer physical cores and threads the upgrades across the architectures and platforms means I still come out ahead for multicore workloads and for gaming it pretty much bulldozes anything you throw at it. Hopefully by the time I next upgrade, they will have symmetrical cache on both CCD's.

Honestly, this is one of the few games I don’t mind a price increase. I’ve sunk so many hours into over the years that regardless of the cost I’m ahead money wise for entertainment value. Even bought it on Switch as well as GoG. Glad to support the developer. On a side note, if you like Factorio, also give Mindustry a go. Another game I’ve sunk a massive amount of time into and has the source available, https://github.com/Anuken/Mindustry [External Link]

Nice! Looking forward to seeing these units. May need one to do some software development on the go once things open back up. Always good to have more options!
