Normally I'm using FS-UAE and it even used to have a "steamos build", but not any more.
Either way I would absolutely love to replay some of my favourite Amiga games on Steam Deck.

I'm celebrating my 8th anniversary of discovering Steam today, thanks to Humble Bundle (Steam was required to play Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior from one of the bundles). It was astonishing to learn it has a Linux client and so many Linux games (Portal, Half-Life etc.).

Fun fact: my very first purchase on Steam was freshly-released Superfrog HD, while the original Superfrog was my very first Amiga game, bought along with Amiga 500.

It's kind of terrifying that you must go through several court instances and burn a lot of money just to finally get someone to look at a glaring evidence.

It doesn't mention SteamOS, Proton or anything Linux related but simply mentions it runs a "new version of Steam" and ends by telling people to reserve now.
That is probably the right amount of information for the general public. They don't care how games run, they only care if they do.
This is exactly the right way to put it. And as often with new versions of software, some backwards-incompatibilities are to be expected, so it should be easier to tell people to wait indefinitely while it's being worked on. It will be interesting to see if games start getting negative reviews for not running on steam deck, like they now do if they don't work on windows 10.
