I think the Steam version is not affected by the second bug, it can be fixed but why do we have to find the solution and patch the game by ourselves? Can you imagine anything similar in the windows port?

Maybe I'm also be affected by the frequent crashes. I am using "maybe" because I stopped playing after the second crash.

Quoting: .AFAIK he has never been involved in anything good. Always shipping unfinished crap that never gets fixed. He starts to work on a million projects at the same time and ends up with a million broken ports.

Relax, it's time to stop trying to play Dungeon Defenders.

Project Of The Month July 2014

StepMania looks awesome in the videos, but I suppose their user base is small due to the need of additional hardware. I'll vote for Freeciv because it's my most played game in the list by far.

Valve Has Yet Again Greenlit 35 More Linux Games For Steam

Quoting: pbMakes me wonder why people vote for some totally mediocre games while DROD still struggles to get to the top 100. Must be the "greenlight bundles". :-(

I must admit I have ignored the DROD games because of the first impression (graphics mainly). I didn't know I can try the first one for free, I promise I will give it a chance.

BTW. We should write a list with mostly unknown games that are awesome.

GOG.com In Need Of Linux Tech Specialist To Port Games
29 May 2014 at 6:39 am UTC

If a game is using wine or dosbox, I would prefer this information to be available. If all the stores I buy games from started publishing wine ports without warning, I would panic. However, as long as the use of these technologies is restricted to old games in the GOG store, I will consider it as a nice improvement.

That said, today I wouldn't pay for windows or msdos software. While I love wine an dosbox, I had some bad experiences with incompatible software. However, if GOG proves they can hide the compatibility layers and provide a trouble-free experience with their ports, I will reconsider my position.

Dammit! I wasn't convinced by the video so I tried the demo and now I need this game. Those Ukrainians have created a solid, polished and fun gameplay, I'll be tracking them.

Mojang's Battling Card Game 'Scrolls' Linux Version Most Likely After The Final For Other Platforms

Quoting: RealKleinerI thought we had learned our lesson when it comes to promises of a Linux port? Don't buy it until it's out.

I fully agree. Even a confirmation that the game actually works is becoming necessary lately.

Quoting: KelsI give them bonus points for never using the word "retro" on their Steam page.

:D

Humble Bundle PC & Android 9 Ups The Ante With Three More Linux Games
10 April 2014 at 5:56 am UTC

Quoting: berarmaIt's the first Unity game I have problems with. I guess it's using locale-aware number parsing functions for reading its data files, nasty. It might be some Unity plugin that is doing it.

The same workaround is needed for the first release version of Larry Reloaded (fixed in 2.0) and Chuck's Challenge. Try the demo of the latter to see funny graphical bugs.

Quoting: JIghtuseI hope they will announce Linux support someday.

I am optimistic about this, their have improved their Linux support from none to bundles only. They only need to take another step.
