I have always liked the dead - in games ofc.Especially dead women are high on my list!:smile:But I haven't played this game though. Maybe I should rectify my "situation" and civilize my universe(home). Let the zombie party begin!

Unity Technologies officially files to go public with an IPO

I think this is the beginning of the end.I don't either trust the new investors who will buy shares from Unity. It's like what happens in social security system in my country. It will fall unto wrong hands and then it's always a question of profits with maximum low costs. All I can do now is to console myself with legendary German proverb which I learned in school:"Wenn Ich traurig bin, esse ich Kartoffelchips.". What that means? Well try to find it out by yourself!

I have played civilization 5. The first big game ever on Linux they say. It's a very challenging game when you compare it to civ 1 for example. Yes I remember the first game of civilization series.Me and my friend always liked to use nukes to conquer the world! But as a result the world was really polluted and you couldn't heal irrigation system around the cities.People got killed and that was a bit sad.Well overall it was fun at the time:smile:. But what comes to civ 5 I won't use the nukes.Somehow it's not right.Maybe because I'm wiser now!

Lingonberry, huh? Sounds good. We don't have those around here--I think the only place I can get lingonberry stuff is Ikea.
Yup, worked fine. 8 jars of blackberry jelly; I spent 3 hours picking 'em. Had a step-stool with me so I could pick the stuff too high to reach that hadn't been picked over. My jelly and jam always turn out pretty well, but I don't have any special way of making 'em. I just use the instructions with the Certo pectin except I ignore where it says don't scant the sugar or it won't set and scant the sugar anyway by a cup or two. It always sets fine anyway and their way is too sweet.
One thing though--in my family we've found that if you want to keep jam a long time, freeze it. Not that it's freezer jam--freezer jam sucks. No, it's boiled up normally, but after it's made and cooled down we freeze most of it, that way it stays pretty much like new even a couple years later. If you just keep it on a shelf somewhere it gradually gets sort of darker and loses that powerful, fresh zingy fruitiness.[/quote]Ikea? The swedish department store?I see:grin:In my home we pick up lingonberry about 20-40 litre per year-depending on what kind of summer there has been. Then we smash our "catch" and make mash of it. Then we put it down to our cool basement and use it in a year.We have lingonberry almost every time on the table when we have dinner. Very tasty especially then when we add sugar on it.The word jam wasn't the right word to describe sorry.Mash is better:smile:.I get soon banned here.I should be talking about games or open up lingonberry topic here which doesn't concern Linux gaming ofc. Well I must soon continue playing DEFCON or try something new like civilization 5 or 6. Sometimes it's hard to decide:smile:

Quoting: Purple Library GuyDammit, I haven't had time to game at all (except regularly scheduled paper&pencil over Zoom) this week. Right now I am just about to go squash a ton of blackberries so I can make jelly.
Did you succeed in jelly making?Yes I know this is off topic. Just being curious. As for myself I picked up some blueberry from nearby woods. Soon I will pick tons of lingonberry from my secret place in the woods and make jam.Very healthy.

Tried to play DEFCON which is very gloomy. On the other hand it's kinda interesting because you just send nukes and millions of people will die in the major cities.I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone at first glance. And in real world: may the warheads rust in peace!

Direct3D to Vulkan translation layer DXVK 1.7.1 is out, lots of game fixes

I wonder when they drop an atom bomb to London...oops I was thinking about DEFCON game.I remembered the legendary saying from it: if the bomb drops, everybody dies! What a great game:happy:But seriously, let us talk about DXVK. Nice to have an update for a long time. Hopefully the next DXVK update comes sooner.Great job as always:smile:

NVIDIA GeForce are teasing something for August 31, likely RTX 3000

Not interested atm. I've geforce 1080 in my rig and that's enough for me:smile:.The next GPU will be AMD's for me unless NVIDIA open up their driver. It seems that's not gonna happen for a long time.Maybe then when evil scientists discover how to travel back in time to change history so that there will be no Microsoft and windows. And most importantly Linus Torvalds will be the overlord of the world. In addition to that, Linux Market share will be 99% in computers! Then NVIDIA open up their drivers.Oh what a fantastic world awaits us!:happy:Did I went too far with my story? Maybe. But honestly speaking, I suspect that It's only the new GeForce RXT 3000 card, nothing more. But there will be always room for pleasant surprises!
