Hello to the world again !I'm in a bit loony mood today:happy: so I can recommend Winux, a new linux based windows OS which has all the goodies and candies you have always wanted:an operating system which can turn you into jelly in a matter of seconds and you will beg for more goodies from it!It can boost your "rig" into a new level So if you have an old computer from stone age somewhere in your secret cellar, then give it a good and loony new life with Winux. Then you can play all the windows based games like Cyberpunk 2077 with it!Great, isn't it? Yes I know this is off topic slightly and this isn't a joke website. But in real world my opinion Ubuntu is maybe the best alternative alongside with Linux Mint. I would recommend them for the beginners. And finally, Merry Christmas for everyone and may the Christmas Turkey haunt in your dreams!

Quoting: 14Ok I keep that in mind:smile: .But also what came into my mind this morning is lack of working programs in the latest Ubuntu when using Rpi 4. I don't know whenether the reason for that is ARM environment or Snap system. Personally I'll wait for a while and study some things concerning linux. And when I'm done I will look into Raspberry again:smile:Quoting: SolarwingWell I bought Raspberry pi 4 with 8 G ram when I heard about Ubuntu 20.10 desktop support on Raspberry 4. And experiences? Really confusing.:unsure:You can do basic things like use firefox to view the net and write text documents on ubuntu 20.10 ofc. But still it seems that proper support for Raspberry 4 is still lacking.Or I don't know how to configure it. When I tried to install updates for example it told me that there was no internet connection on Raspberry 4.Even if I had one. And Ubuntu 20.10 desktop was a bit slow but what else can you expect?Nevertheless Raspberry 4 has potential and if I were you, it would be better to wait couple of months and when the support is better and some problems are fixed then if you have Raspberry 4 try to use ubuntu desktop on it.:smile:My guess is the slow feeling is your memory card. The CPU and RAM should run Ubuntu pretty great I think.

Quoting: OdisejJust don't expect miracles. Tried some of the available versions (Mate, Manjaro ...) but always came back to the official Raspberry OS as it was the most optimized even if only 32 bit.Okay I keep that in my mind. Just want to make some experiments what raspberry 4 can do.Of course it doesn't replace my main rig.I'm considering to connect 250 gt SSD on it. It needs only an adapter in order to do that. And maybe in some day I can run good tests with steam and so on. 8 Gt ram is enough for some games:smile:
Anyway, in my experience good for tinkering around, wonderful for writing as it's totally quiet but had to switch back to my main computer for work as it was too slow in some tasks (mostly due to read/write to SD card).
Still enjoyable little device with a lot of potential.

YES!!!Yesterday I bought Raspberry 4 with 8 Gt ram because of these news. Now I must wait for the postman next week to deliver this piece of equipment for me.I'm very excited to try it with latest Ubuntu 20.10.Oh man if time would go faster. But I've got a mad scientist as my neighbour. He has invented time travel and could send me to the future!Oh how lucky I am:happy:. But on the other hand he could add couple zeroes on my time stamp and instead couple days he could send a couple thousand years in time ahead. Then he would leave me there - just for fun:smile:!So this time travel is out of the question.I must be patient and wait for the post delivery.

Lenovo begins rollout of Fedora Linux on their laptops, Ubuntu systems due soon

Great. Another reason to empty my bank account. Some part of me still thinks this is rip off when you look at the Lenovo's prices mentioned above (even if it has a discount?). "Well maybe you are wrong at this time and you must hack into your local bank's server and add a couple of zeroes onto your bank account. Then you can buy a new Lenovo laptop" I say to myself."What a jolly idea!you must put it into operation after the next midnight" that part of me answers.Okay enough with jokes!I Mean it's still good to have more vendors and alternatives to the Market. Now if people could have more courage to try something new...

I played guitar again....this time I connected it with my win10 machine and played Rocksmith 2014 remastered. Yes I betrayed our cause and master(Liam) can kick me out from GOL for good! But here is the real thing:I still wait for Rocksmith to work on Linux properly using Proton.(And when it works I will play it on linux) But in the meantime I have to use win10. It's really challenging for me to play Rocksmith-yet.The problem is that you've to watch the screen and try to play guitar at the same time. Well training will correct that.As a matter of fact I have also played civilization 5 for a bit on Linux. So I haven't forgotten Linux totally.
