Flatseal looks like it should help.

Also this was useful to get flatpak support in gnome-software (not just snaps)

sudo apt install --install-suggests gnome-software

The Force Engine for classic Star Wars: Dark Forces now on Flathub

With the flatpak I could not get it to detect the GOG or Steam directories.

Also got he same /run/user/.... path reference when using browse.

Even editing the settings.ini it could not find the game.

What did work was to copy contents of the the /Dark Forces/Game/ folder into /home/adrian/.var/app/io.github.theforceengine.tfe/data/

Update
Previously the (Steam) Dark Forces was located on an additional HD
/media/adrian/Data5/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Dar Forces/

I moved the game to the OS disk and then it found it

/home/adrian/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Dark Forces/Game

I guess its a permissions issue for the flatpak to access my other disks.

I on Ubuntu 23.10 and it does not want me to manage Flatpaks in the App Center or in Gnome-Software.

Quoting: EWGThat's a Flatpak application, right? Check the permissions it has. There's a GUI app called flatseal that helps with managing everything flatapps can do including what directories they'll allowed to access.

It's from the deb ver 2.3.9

I'm sure it was a problem with the disk.

I see that the Epic / GOG game filter is on 2.4.0 Beta 2

Anyway I installed the GOG - Star Trek - Elite force II. no problems.
Manually set the resolution to 1920x1080 and it is working. Did the tutorial with Tuvok.

Thanks

Thanks tpau

Quoting: Stoney_Fish1. INSTALL was greyed out , anyone know why ?

For some reason it said the disk was not writable.

I re-selected it again and Install button works. May be the disk is going to die on me. Must be the heat.

I tried to install a GOG Windows game this morning using Heroic Launcher.
It shows a popup windows with a few prompts for settings eg Wine version.
Then there were two button IMPORT and INSTALL.
1. INSTALL was greyed out , anyone know why ?
2. IMPORT, I was not sure about, does it mean you manually download a zip from GOG and select that ?

I can see how you can list from your library All or Linux or Windows games.

Can you filter this list for All or GOG or Epic games ?

Thanks

Tried Sniper Elite V2 and Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light

both gave :
The Steam servers are too busy to handle your request for ....... Error Code (2)

When it works it will be great, much better than dropping in a cracked exe.

Update : Realized I was not forcing Experimental setting on the games.

Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light - is working

Sniper Elite V2 - brinks up a launcher window with a play button, then it crashes.
