Quoting: lejimsterI've never really looked too closely at Xonotic but it kinda reminds me of UT99 in how it plays from watching the video.
It's very, very UT. Great fun. There's not a single excuse not to try it if arena style shooters are your thing.

It's so great to have you amongst us here, Edddeduck. Thanks for the explanation, detailed enough to really explain things without getting too detailed for only the high end techies to understand. :)

Thanks again!

Ok, wow. I am blown away by the difference. And this is no demo but a real world example. Utterly promising.

Please Feral dude, stop by and explain to us why exactly the difference is this major, even on a ported title?

Lovely atmosphere. I would perhaps have done some adjustments to the gravity or weight or something to further distance myself from earth. It kinda looks like regular earth physics when he move around.
But yeah, love the setting, I trust Liam to keep us posted on this one. :)

Quoting: BeamboomSo I finally got me a Steam controller last week! They have to be imported here in Norway (and thus toll and stuff adds a lot to the price) [...]
That's strange - I am often required to write special addon/plugins to web shops, some of this work is handling non-EU (usually Norwegian specifically) customers where we have to remove Danish VAT ( 25% ).

So wouldn't it be cheaper ? or is it just that webshop doesn't support this scenario and charge you full price ?
I've never seen that on Amazon at least. But regardless, there is a toll barrier into Norway on goods that cost above around 30€, so in addition to the Norwegian VAT there is a Toll import charge. I'd estimate that it in total adds up to almost as much as the controller itself.
It suxxxorz. But the real question is, why are there no Norwegian distributor?

So I finally got me a Steam controller last week! They have to be imported here in Norway (and thus toll and stuff adds a lot to the price) but I found it used.

It's different indeed, with the touch pads. But it's cool to use! I haven't done any serious gaming with it yet but I love how it just works in all games within Steam.

Unreal Tournament updated, weapon animations overhauled and AI improvements

It's a self fulfilling prophecy, this - poor Linux accessibility and hassle to get it to run means fewer Linux gamers will run it and report issues, thus seemingly our platform becomes even smaller and less significant than it already is and attention to Linux related issues will be even less.

"it will be released on windows, mac and other PC platforms". Why on earth did they pronounce "Linux" like that?

Quoting: K3rcusThinking about buy Borderlands Pre-sequels just because I love BL2.
it's not half as fun as bl2 in my book. In fact the pre-sequel will never be completed by me. There's something about the characters and the corny "western in space" setting that just was too dumb for me. And I LOVE bl2, it's fantastic.

Quoting: K3rcusJust curious, what do you think guys about Spec Ops: The Line?
I think it's a very good linear adventure. Looks real good, exciting set pieces. But of course, very very linear. It's one story that keeps rolling, no room for digressions :-)

AMD have announced 'Anvil', an MIT-licensed wrapper library for Vulkan

It's terminological pedantry, but bear with me: isn't this more a "framework" than a "wrapper"?
