No Man's Sky Sentinel Update gets 'specially optimised' for Steam Deck

Quoting: rustybroomhandleWhat specifically is wrong with its controller support?
There not being any.
it claims controllers can be enabled via Big Picture, which doesn't work
What are you talking about? I use a controller on No Mans Sky (via Proton) without issue.
Good for you. Mine doesn't and never has. Xbox 360 and DualSense, wired and wireless, Steam controller mode off and on, Big picture and standard, over multiple distros.
I try again with every major update, including this one

Quoting: undeadbydawnI'm almost impressed they've managed to get this working just fine on SteamDeck but STILL haven't managed controller support.
It's the one and only reason I never play this game.

Skul: The Hero Slayer gets a massive overhaul out now

Sigh
Still getting that black screen at the start, still no DualSense support, and the opening levels are still an absolute ball-ache to the point it's extremely difficult to make any actual progress
And I lost load of upgrades from my previous effort.

This is still #1 on my list of games I really wish I liked more

God of War is now on Steam and runs out of the box on Linux with Proton

A game I didn't buy on release purely because I still haven't played any of the AAAs I bought a year ago. I will the moment it goes on sale

I was severely tempted to buy this yesterday (I have almost the full asking price in Steam Wallet via refunds) but... I have too many games still to play. Currently working my way through 2019

Will do the moment it goes on sale.

Humble Bundle decides you need another launcher for parts of Humble Choice
12 Jan 2022 at 1:33 pm UTC

yeah, no thanks.
Going back to a 'One price for everything' model is fine as the tiered version felt deeply cynical, but no way in Heaven or Hell am I installing yet another launcher.

I may still buy individual games or DLCs on deep sale, and some of the book bundles are still decent, but monthly games have been DOA for a very long time and this just seals it

Quoting: GuestAward of bug fest of the year... and the winner is: Cyberpunk 2077.
Valheim bugless gameplay and clean mechanics laughs at you. And it's still in Early Access lol.
C2077 is still a clunky mess, but vastly more fun than I expected.
I stopped playing and uninstalled ~20 hours in cos certain issues were killing for me (the major one getting stuck in Delamain HQ after going back in for Legendary components) and it seemed wise to put it off for the next major round of updates & fixes. It has legit potential to be one of my favourite games ever, and fill the void left by Deus Ex

Holy wow. A legit Linux-native non-pixel art full 3D FPS? How the hell did I not know this game exists?
It's mostly flying under the radar. It's in bit of a niche genre, but within rogue-lite shooters it's pretty good one.

Otherwise if you look for Linux natives, you have to appreciate what indie industry is able to produce. Those teams can be pretty small, so if they want to actually release a game, they have to cut corners somewhere.
Bought Ziggurat 2 and, while impressed with how well the game is made, got bored very rapidly. The 'tiny arena' format just didn't work for me. I refunded but may buy again on a much deeper sale

Death Stranding absolutely sold me and you should play it

I bought this during the last Steam Winter Sale (aka 'The Brexit Panic) along with a horde of other AAA titles, but haven't jumped in yet.
