Steam Replaces The Linux Tux Logo With SteamOS
28 May 2015 at 2:26 am UTC Likes: 6

I think the most forget, thats Linux is only the Kernel. ^^
All other are a Distribution.

No Linux Kernel, no SteamOs.

SuSE, opensuse, SuSE Enterprise Linux has the cameleon as Logo, no Tux.
Red Hat the black head with red Hat, no Tux too.
And, and and.

But all are Linux based distributions.

So whats your problem?

The Steam Logo is maybe only a Browser problem, i think.

The other thing is, thats Steam wrote on the login/register site the Supported Linux based Distributions.
You can read it on the Installpage, too.
So i can see it as new Steamuser.

And there are a very big Tux, too.

So you want a Tux and the SteamOS Logo in the Shoppage Lists? So i want the Ubuntu, Arch, RedHat, SuSE and all the other Linux based distribution logos, too. ;)

Quoting: GuestHere is a idea, Put DirectX11 emulation support in Wine so hundreds more Windows games will play on Linux.
How many years the wine team needed to make DirectX 9 available?

You know thats direct x 1x was a different API to DX 9?

You know thats direct 3d 11 is better in Gallium 3D?

You know direct 3D 11 was for the nvc0 (nVidia NVC0/Fermi) chips available in Gallium 3D?

See: http://www.x.org/wiki/GalliumStatus/ [External Link]

Direct X 1x harms Wine, as it is useful for Wine

Techland Presentation On Porting Dying Light To Linux
23 Apr 2015 at 9:09 pm UTC

"The talk is very technical, but one thing I did find quite striking is the build time difference between Visual Studio (8 Minutes) and Make (70 Minutes). They did find an alternative to make, but it still doesn’t come close to VS’s time."

They use Intel to compile under Linux. An AMD FX is very much faster to compile under Linux.

Games people would not expect but are universally loved:
Ages of Empire 2
As in the Microsoft game?

Yeah right - we've got about as much chance of Bill Gates announcing that he'll be using Ubuntu going forwards as we do of that happening!

Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong (I love the franchise, but am sick of playing it via PlayOnLinux), but it's never going to happen...
Yes it can happen.
On this list are 3 MS Games, ok the Devs are not MS but the Publisher:

http://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=Microsoft%20Studios [External Link]

And now MS open his dot NET framework and made it opensource. So MS open his doors to Linux and other platforms.

Why not with Games, too?
I hope MS will do it.
