FWIW Soma never terrified me the way Dark Descent did, but I agree that Soma is the Frictional game to beat... the story and ambience were god tier horror gaming

I'm quite curious how spin-off games like Rimworld have paved the way to the masses for DF. I suspect the answer is "not much," but I suppose there is a world in which DF does become a massive hit.

surely if there's any game that has earned the right to make a joke about a release date it's DF.

not too excited for the coming price hikes. I was going to say "poor Turkiye" because of that increase, but then checked the converted currency and they're still doing just fine.

Quoting: AnzaI played Dredge too and there's not that much to add. Based on store page description, horror seems to be integral part of the game. At least so far in the demo there's always safe haven, so there's bit of a breather before venturing out into night. Though it could be that towards the end horror intensifies, but at that point player might be hooked already. Alternatively strange just becomes the new normal and things are not as scary anymore.
I'm also unsure if the gameplay is going to closer reflect the horror elements or it will remain pretty relaxing to play - the game definitely has a horror game ambience, but so far the horror gameplay mechanics (eg terror) are pretty light. I actually don't mind which way it goes, I can appreciate a relaxing game with horror story elements or a horror game with relaxing gameplay elements.

Re: Void Scrappers people seem to really like it, Liam included. Haven't tried it yet
