Linux share on Steam hits highest peak in years thanks to Steam Deck

Quoting: denyasisSo that's about 118,000 Deck Users. I guess that's a good number for sales, but I guess I was expecting the over all Linux % to be more positively affected by the Deck. I guess it'll take more time. Hopefully it translates into more mainstream Linux use as well.
We were too many before already... ;-)

Quoting: gradyvuckovicLove seeing the Steam Deck continue to be a perfect fixed target Linux PC for game devs to aim for in terms of compatibility. The Steam Deck's impact in that regard has been fantastic. Greatly simplifies life for game devs, and it has resulted in so many positive changes to existing and new games, improving compatibility not just with Linux but also with gamepads in general.

I'm a keyboard and mouse person, but it seems to me Steam Deck has even improved gamepad support for Windows users?

Currently both GOG and itch.io only have the Windows builds.
Oooh, come ooon devs! Damn.
Bringing the Linux version to Steam took them a couple of days after the Windows version. Which is fine in my book. Maybe they're doing similar for other platforms.

Quoting: itscalledrealityWhat does hand-drawn even mean anymore, especially when it comes to a digital medium? A wacom tablet and stylus? Not using premade clip art/models? 2D drawn models?

It’s not like they’re drawing animations on paper, even then they’d be scanning in the result. When is art not hand-drawn?

How about: when you've moved the hand in the shape that ended up on the screen?

Quoting: Sojiro84Curious to see the specs on the screen etc.

Very interested in VR since the Oculus announcement, but so far haven't bought anything since it isn't good enough yet visually.

Did try the Index at my cousin, and although fun, the whole cable mess was a downer.
I great you'll have to choose between cables and low res.
Which makes me think... A standalone device, pluggable for high-end graphics...?

Quoting: AnzaUser interface feels bit clunky and humor is quite close to being funny. Might eventually buy Procession to Cavalry instead though.
Exactly what I would suggest. I was surprised I found Procession to Cavalry a good point and click, and it has a nice mechanic: If you don't get a certain puzzle, you can circumvent them by killing the respective person. (Game warns you about this being a circumvention, too.)

Thanks for your reports!

Quoting: AnzaIn the end bit clunky, but does have certain charm.
I wasn't playing far into Casebook 1899, seemed too clunky to me.

Quoting: AnzaI wonder if there are more good murder mystery games out there.

I didn't find the demo interesting if I remember correctly.
The Procession to Calvary was quite a good point and click.

Quoting: EhvisSnif. Well, I'll definitely add this last Zach release to my library. Since I only finished three, I still need years to finish them all.
Same boat here, I'm looking forward to more games by him than I've actually played yet. :-D
