The port ran very good for me back in the days. Sad to see it go.

Quoting: poiuzAh, you're probably right. I always count a new console as starting from 0, but it was different this time.Quoting: EikeI still fear even if they've got several thousands of games at launch, which no console ever hadThe PS5 & Xbox Series had thousands of games at launch.

I didn't say it would be without risk.
I did say that most Linux Kickstarters seem to have been successful.

Quoting: areamanplaysgameCitation needed.Quoting: EikeYes, but...Yet, by your logic, it isn't risky
* You're not taking a risk, unlike the backers.
* For games coming from Kickstarter, your "help" wouldn't be possible without the backers' in the first place.
Thinking about it, as you seem to overestimate the risk, you should see the first point even clearer.

Quoting: areamanplaysgameWhat I said was if you back something on Kickstarter and it fails, you shouldn't be surprised. It happens a lot.Well, according to the statistics we got here, it seems a success actually happens a lot more.
Quoting: areamanplaysgameAlso, no, I don't think I'm going to thank someone else for doing something in their own self-interest.Well, if their actions help you as well... But I see you've chosen. *shrug *

I sure do: Thanks for all those who backed Linux games on Kickstarter.

Quoting: areamanplaysgameWhat is this? Some kind of guilt trip?Well, you might admit that you're actually benefiting from those that - against your repeated explicit advice - backed Linux games in Kickstarter. You could even thank them.
If the games are good and in line with my tastes, I will indeed enjoy them. I don't feel any kind of bad whatsoever for not backing them on a crowdfunding platform. The fact that I pay for them when they exist is enough for me, and should be enough for anyone buying any product.
I sure do: Thanks for all those who backed Linux games on Kickstarter.

Quoting: GuestThere should be speedup mods out there. I very rarely used mods, but I remember having installed one of those here.Quoting: GuestDo you suggets to play XCOM1 or XCOM2 to someone with not much free time?I don't think there is a clear choice wrt time. They both suffer from the curse of turn-based tactical games, namely games last waay too long on maps with a lot of enemies because they force you to watch the animations (enemy turn). I wouldn't play this kind of game when i don't have at least 3-4 hours of game time, as a map can last 15-20 minutes easily per try, and you will likely have to retry 1-2 times on harder difficulties (which is why i personally like to play these games) unless you are really good at the game.
Thanks!
