Quoting: kuhpunkt... didn't do himself any favors when he just made the claim without any evidence.Reminds me of... something. Someone. Just cannot remember what it was..... Ah, nevermind.
... he could have brought it up in the lawsuit. He didn't.

Quoting: GuestIs momentum picking up, or was July a particularly impressive month for news? Maybe it's a bit of both. In any case, I didn't realise just how much was going on until this was all summarised.Well, article 1 Steam Deck, 2 Steam Deck, 3 Steam Deck, 4 the only porter company left giving up on (hopefully only one) port, 5 Steam Deck, 6 Steam Deck...

Quoting: rustybroomhandleI wager a hefty chunk of Linux users do not allow the survey because "oh no, privacy!"I'm not sure. I could also imagine Windows users say "No, why would I?!?", while Linux users, having eagerly waited for their vote, scream "Hell yeah!". At least I did! ;)

Quoting: fleskWelcome back! ;)The question in my mind is: why are we seeing a sudden surge? It's because I've started gaming a bit again, after a long hiatus.

Quoting: kuhpunktIsn't the Steam Deck also just a Steam Machine? It's a PC with SteamOS preinstalled. It's a Steam Machine... with huge parts of the Steam library working, dedicated hardware people can aim for, and for mobile gaming. So... rather no. :)

Quoting: dpanterI'm hoping (without any actual hope at all really) that Steam will show the Deck/SteamOS as a separate data set rather than lumping it in with the Linux data we are familiar with today. It would indicate if the Deck had a positive effect on desktop Linux adoption. :neutral:I hope for the opposite. We will see the positive effect if Linux numbers are climbing up significantly, and I don't want to be a third class citizen after Windows and Deck.

I use to install a game, play through (or give up), delete and... well, hopefully not forget, but probably never install again.

Quoting: BreizhI guess it is, never bothered much to look into all those directories. I would expect a game with cloud saves to delete its local saves though, and personally, I'd even want it to forget about my preferences (but I can see how you would think differently on this).Quoting: EikeSpeaking of the Library manager, when I go into the directory I always find myself surprised how many games leave some stuff there that I actually uninstalled (I'm not keeping games around which I don't play)...Are you sure that’s not the saves and users settings? Keeping saves and others user-related stuff, so I can continue if I reinstall the game is expected for me (and, for any user that can’t keep all their games always installed because of disk space, and have to rotate between them).

Quoting: GuestI so hate these trailers full of text that can’t be read because it goes too fast :(. This one is even worse because of the weird UI layout and effects.I know what you mean, when there's text, one wants to read it, but I guess it's more about getting a general expression what you're doing in the game (chat, walk from bird's perspective, examine, gathering clues, solving puzzles, phone calls, elimnating airpl... *what?!?*, ...) than actual content of the chats. But yes, I did try (and did fail) to read it, too. :)
