Quoting: spayder26Microsoft IE/Edge/Whatever-is-called-tomorrow serves a purpose, and it probably isn't any good for Internet openness or user freedom.
If it had its own browser engine, it actually might have been that, considering Google's dominance in browsers...

Quoting: vskyeYa, this would be a cool system to own. I'm not really digging the monitor though, since it's only 3840x1080, and I'd like 3840x1440. Sure is nice though!
Every monnitor generation I need to buy a bigger resolution just to not lose pixel height...!

In other Microsoft-related news, Microsoft opened up their Windows calculator application back in early 2019. Now, developers from Uno Platform have ported that over to Linux too because why the heck not. You can grab that from the Snap store if you want to try it.
That's the one that still doesn't do multiplications before additions by default. Why the heck not?

Quoting: GuestAnd yet bosses think we would do better work if we were back at the office… No.
In Germany, some say we should go in the direction half home, half office in the "New Normal". I'll be able to do even more home office then (whenever that will be), it seems.

I really wonder in what directions other countries will go...?

The beta tested the demo and developer was very responsive and eager on getting feedback.

Quoting: GuestHow is that not their own fault?
The point is if the developer does not provide DRM-free builds or Linux builds, they can't force them to.
If I remember correctly, they used to "force" them to make Linux version long time ago, no?
I'm not blaming them, but it's not like it is literally impossible.

Quoting: wvstolzingas far as I can remember, the original keyboards on those devices were pretty awful, with thick springs under each key (*not* buckling spring style, just a straight spring that the keycap bounces on) with ridiculously long 'action', and no real sense of feedback.
Eh, they were okay compared to the competition at the time.
Nothing compared to the "chewing gum" keyboard of the Sinclair (ZX 81 or Spectrum, not sure anymore)...!
