Valve announce over half a million Steam Controllers have been sold
2 Jun 2016 at 7:17 pm UTC

Quoting: linuxgamerCrazy, never thought steam controllers will be on sale. They usually went with a game bundled for low, but 30% off is really nice (for those who don't one yet).
That made me decide to get one.
XCOM 2 it was back then.

Valve announce over half a million Steam Controllers have been sold
2 Jun 2016 at 6:40 pm UTC

Quoting: CreakI have one, but most of my games don't work with it (or work poorly).
For instance, Broforce just doesn't work (but Xbox360 pad does work).

Also, TF2 still displays the keyboard shortcuts although I have the SteamController plugged in. It isn't really easy to learn games this way.

Do you have the same problems?
Did you update the firmware and start the game from big picture mode?

Life Is Strange is coming to Linux & SteamOS by Feral Interactive
1 Jun 2016 at 12:20 pm UTC

Quoting: ellieferalWe're bringing it to the Mac App Store first, which is why we've focussed the spotlight on them for now, but we will bring it to Linux too. It's awesome, we want you to have it.
Sure you do, but I want me to have it, too. :D

Announcing the beta of our User Stats page

I agree to sorting the RAM by size.
I wonder if it will stay the only one, as screen resolution should be sorted by (screen) size as well, IMHO.
By the way, I would use ranges for screen resolution. I'm sure there are lots of esoteric resolutions our there, but IMHO, we don't need to know exact.

Just port to Linux - and your game will insta-die...!

;o)

Editorial: Valve have not abandoned SteamOS or Linux, things are looking pretty good
30 May 2016 at 11:44 am UTC

Quoting: STiATWe're lucky for that, but we're just beta testers for their real business goals. [...] Valve is scared not of the Microsoft store, but of Google Play.
Very interesting read! Many people are already carrying a little computer around and those won't get weaker...

Please, Don’t Touch Anything now supports Linux, don't you dare touch that button

Unfortunately, I already watched that in a Let's Play, but it's a nice strange puzzler. Sort of. :o)

F1 2015 released for Linux by Feral Interactive, Nvidia only for now, port report, video and more included
27 May 2016 at 10:20 am UTC

No smug, just FYI:
"While our aim was to bring F1 2015 to Mac, there were complications with the OS that put a spanner in the works. We didn't want you to end up with a game that doesn't handle well, so F1 2015 will not be appearing on OSX. However, we do have some fast developing plans for racing on the Mac that we think you’ll enjoy. Stay tuned (up)."

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive now 64bit on Linux
26 May 2016 at 9:04 am UTC

Quoting: ElectricPrismThe reason games aren't 64 bit is because it doesn't really provide any advantage whatsoever, maybe on Linux if they were using linux libraries it wouldn't require the 32-bit but that's not the case as they ship their own libraries to my understanding.

I mean the only advantage I can think of is address space being increased, but then if your games is using 8GB ram I would start the dafuq face imo.
There's many new registers, helping the Compiler to create (a bit) faster code.
