The MMO 'Wild Terra Online' has now officially launched
19 Dec 2017 at 4:06 pm UTC

"Pretty hardcore" and "not for the impatient", the last time I tried the game, translate largely to "dreary grind while stuck alone in a forest". Like most sandbox MMOs, there's no feeling of a persistent world with its own history, and nothing really to do but grind for materials to build your base (which can be interesting) and gank new players on the PvP servers.

Might be willing to give it a try again, now that there's a full release though. And the hunger system is kind of interesting. And the oldschool CRPG-looking graphics do work pretty well with the environment.

Speculation: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive might be getting a PUBG-like mode

I guess there really was a market for PUBG without all the bugs and glitches. And, in the case of Fortnite, much more appealing art direction.

I got my copy the moment I saw it come up on Steam, and plan to start playing tomorrow. Looking forward to another triumph.

I'm hoping they carry on the really amazing spatial stuff they showed off in A Bird Story. The way spaces opened up as you proceeded through the story was amazing, and added a lot to the oldschool graphics.

Your title is a little misleading. I thought it was out a day early, only to find "tomorrow" in the article text.

Sweet 2D RPG 'LandTraveller' updated with a ton of new content

This is one I've had my eye on since Samsai took it for a spin on the Friday stream a while back. This update is hopeful, suggesting there'll be a fair amount of content when it finally leaves Early Access.

I'm a bit surprised LIMBO doesn't seem to have a Linux version on GoG.

i have no fkn clue what to do in that game
It's totally sandbox. You start small, fly around, do missions, earn credits, buy bigger ships, play the economy by building stations, earn more money, invate sectors, explore for hidden pirate bases for certain goodies, etc.

It has an initial steep learning curve at first, but it has potential to give you hundreds of hours of fun. Play it with joystick if you can.

In fact, per my experience earlier and other people's in the forums, playing with a controller can be damn near impossible so if you don't have a joystick don't bother.

In the Valley of Gods announced from Firewatch developer Campo Santo, confirmed to Linux

Hmm. Hard to tell what the game is actually about. Probably first person in the vein of Firewatch, at least. Two women, but are they the protagonists or is this something that happened prior to the game and you're dealing with the fallout of their actions? They don't seem to care about the treasures, so what is it about filming that sunrise that's so important? They're definitely there without authorisation.

A good short film though, and it'll be interesting to see how it ties in to the actual game when it gets closer.
