Minor Correction: Hussie's company is "What Pumpkin Games", after a joke from one of his older webcomics.

I should add that it has now been five days since release, and they've repeated the "top priority" comment to others. However, still no answer on why there was no day one or when we can expect the port to come out.

Ostriv, a city-builder set in the 18th century will have Linux support

Quoting: charliebrownauThen again Raft bought out an linux edition and then dropped support
so even after supporting linux its not 100% that support is going
to sick around
Speaking of Raft, it looks like development stalled immediately after they released their Windows-only build. Still sitting at the 1.05 version since January. So we're not really missing a whole lot.

Fugl – Meditative bird flying game should hopefully see Linux support

Looks similar in a lot of ways to Fruits Of a Feather, which is free on Itch and runs perfectly under Linux.

Rarely do I see a trailer that tells me so little about the game. If I don't read your accompanying text, all I can tell is "Fantasy where you wander around and hit stuff. And there's a dragon."

It's got kind of a World of Warcraft look to the art style, which isn't bad, but the combat animations look kind of awkward.

Quoting: Beamboomthe rest of us need to wait a bit longer to get "our" mmo, it seems.
I am not aware of any new major MMO being in active development. Not even for Windows. There are a couple smaller projects, but nothing remotely in AAA territory. And since these things take many years to make, I don't think we're going to see a Linux AAA MMO anytime soon. My biggest hope for a remedy is WINE getting able to run Elder Scrolls Online (again - it used to run win WINE even, but they broke it by removing OpenGL support).

Currently, Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars The Old Republic run very well in WINE, so at least we CAN play AAA MMOs in Linux.
I had such high hopes for Wakfu, which runs natively under Linux, but from what I gather the economy (and ecology!) is a total mess for new players now, and like a lot of games just abandoned the intro stuff in favour of more late-game content. Great design and really interesting combat mechanics, but difficult to get in the rhythm of.

City-building strategy game 'Banished' is no longer having a Linux port

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that after three years of occasional blogs that mentioned how hard he was working on the Mac and Linux ports, they're finally dropped by the wayside. I never would have expected it.

I've wanted to play this for a long time, and was actually given it as a Christmas present two years ago. But alas, for me it's utterly unplayable in Wine so I guess I never will.

A zombie survival game? Talk about bringing new ideas to the table!

Unsung Story, a game previously funded by Kickstarter has started again under a new developer

I must say that Little Orbit has gained a lot of points from the existing backers by actually providing updates and having a professional attitude toward the whole mess, both of which were lacking from Playdek. They've had a good start in terms of transparency at least.

The fact that they're apparently tossing out a lot of the terrible ideas the original devs wasted considerable time and money on, like a multiplayer arena that nobody actually asked for.

Quoting: Crazy PenguinAs I said it is my server which is running 7d/24h on which I'm playing with MY FRIENDS!
We understood that and it's great, but while I don't know about you and your friends, many people have this real life going on and still would find it difficult to find time slots to play together. My best friends do shift-work and I've got two babies to take care of, and that's just two obvious examples.
We have a real life, shifts and family as well. We play if we have time, sometimes alone. Most important is that we can build and work together in one world! This is not an MMO where you need a group for some quests/instances/dungeons. This is not World of Warcraft :D
I'm in the same boat. I don't have a steady schedule, and just want to putter round exploring and building shit without either relying on someone else in order to enjoy the game. I rarely play multi games at all anyway, so while I recognize it would mean more sales (and less complaining) I wouldn't miss it in the least.

Hell, there are games I've taken off my wishlist because they abandoned a good single-player experience for multi. For the time being, this one stays on.
