Been quite a while since I played so I imagine a lot of stuff has changed since then. Debating whether to simply keep waiting until it comes out of EA at this point since it sounds like there's still a lot missing.

I've been seeing discussion about this, wondering just what the devs who leaked are getting out of this. Seeing as sales are traditionally depressed right before a sale people know the date of, this just hurts their full-price income. It's not exactly a benefit, and in fact I don't really see anything positive for the leakers.

Quoting: LinasFugl fills a very special niche for me. Sometimes I am too mentally exhausted to play anything that requires focus, and this game has a certain soothing effect on me.I recommend Fruits Of a Feather, which fills a similar niche and is free on Itch.io. It doesn't have a shapechanging mechanic, but it's pretty chill and I like it.
I think they really captured what I would imagine soaring like a bird would feel like, and audio is a big part of that.
In small doses it can be healthy, but for most this is probably more of a "buy it on sale just to see if I would enjoy that kind of stuff" game, rather than a must-have. This is definitely not for everyone, and not for extended periods of time.

From the trailer, the environments seem great and the shape-shifting concept seems pretty nifty. But wow is the low-rez looking bird ugly. Something about the way it looks when moving is really distracting for me, although it may be less so if I were actually the one steering the thing.
For now, I'll stick to Fruits Of a Feather, which has a similar "you're a bird" mechanic.

Well, I think that having a series of articles similar to this in their own section of the site so we can easily show them to "on the fence" people would really do a lot of good. The idea of a searchable database of games seems like a good idea too, but I'd like to see those done separately.

I'd love to see more articles like this, highlighting different types of games. They're just the ticket for helping convince people who are on the fence about switching to Linux due to the old "there aren't any games" myth.

Quoting: GuestInteresting side note: I checked the Humble page, and there's a notification sayingIt was like that from before day one. Prior to release, backers of the Kickstarter were given the same choice, which struck me as very unusual at the time. As with many things, What Pumpkin hasn't explained why.
