Exploration is content. Story is content.
It's not rocket surgery.

Just commenting to add that I did run into a few graphic glitches about an hour and a half in, but those sorted themselves out and the rest of the experience has run perfectly so far. I posted a bug report in the Steam forum about it.

This sounds right up my alley. I've been really in the mood for exploration-heavy games lately so I'll be sure to check it out.
Didn't notice the little pumpkin icons on Itch until now. Cute!

I tried playing that for a while about a year or so ago. It's grindy as hell, in fact that's the entire game. It's pretty much only grinding. There's no lore, there's not much interaction between the players (outside of PvP which I didn't try), no raids that I'm aware of. There's house building, which pretty much everyone was into, and that's really about it.
Otherwise it was "kill 8 of this monster", then "kill 12 of that monster" with absolutely no variation and no real reward. After a while it just got pointless.

Vain Illusion? That's gotta be Skyrim! Everyone tells me the idea it'll come to Linux is a vain hope!

Basically yes, it's good, but no, I don't necessarily recommend the original strip to everybody.

Quoting: EikeLooks nice. I never heard of these adventures, are they good? The comic can be pretty hard to get into, since at the beginning a lot of it is basically oldschool RPG jokes about inventory management and the like (although some of the jokes are quite funny, they get old fast). You have to slog through that stuff for a while to get to the really good stuff, and honestly there actually is really good stuff. The sheer bulk of it is intimidating though since it's more like an illustrated novel in chatlog form than an orthodox webcomic, so there's a lot to read and a lot to keep track of, and stuff referenced two hundred strips ago can suddenly become important. Plus, Hussie does tend to meander and get caught up in his own cleverness (and make no mistake, he is very clever) sometimes, and the strip as a whole could have used a good editor. I doubt the game would have the same problems though.

Quoting: GuestThey took 2 million dollars, 1.25 million more than they needed, and then said "screw this shit" and ditched it (at least for us)?Well, 1.25 more than they asked for, which doesn't mean it wasn't needed. From the start, Hussie was quite realistic about how much game development can cost, and considered the original target was basically a shoestring. The fact that he managed to come out with a game at all after that, and a good one from the responses I'm seeing, is the result of a lot of hard work on his part, no question.
Please let there be a lawsuit.

Quoting: GuestHomestuck is still a thing? :PWell, people who were fans are still fans, even though it's been on hiatus. If there's one thing Andrew Hussie knows how to do, it's create a loyal following.

I've had this problem a number of times. Pity you have to jump through so many hoops for a solution, but I might do it anyway.
