If Pandora gets marked down enough, I'll probably get it. Maybe Escape Goat 2, we'll see what happens.

Valve Are Heating Up Linux As They Greenlight More Linux Games

Not exactly a stellar collection. The only one that really grabs my attention is Shaman, but I don't see much (any?) gameplay for it yet. Some nice ideas in a few of the others but nothing I'd really go too far out of my way for.

GOL Cast: Building My Empire In Civilization V

If anything, I find the performance is actually better under Linux than it was under Windows 7. I'm pretty impressed with how it came out, other than a minor difficulty in setting my resolution (which mysteriously fixed itself somehow).

Civilization V Strategy Game Launches Natively On SteamOS Linux

Ugh, it's refusing to change resolution to 1920 x 1080. It keeps hanging when I try to change it, and then reverts back to 1024 x 768. Interestingly, when I ran it through Wine I didn't have that problem (although I had the occasional crash).

Brave New World expansion seems to be in place though, so that's a thing.

ETA: and now it works after a few attempts. Very strange.

Civilization Beyond Earth Sneak Peak & Dev Chat From GameTrailers

Quoting: icarus7234
Quoting: KelsI am gonna play the hell out of this when it comes out. It does make me hesitate to try out Pandora, given this will be very much the same sort of thing but far more developed.
I actually bought Pandora the other day! Even though its not as in-depth and it seems much more combat based than Civ5, I think it was worth it to be honest. Smaller dev team, so less options... it is to be expected, but all in all, I've not regretted the purchase so far.

Not enough to stop me getting Beyond Earth by any means, but a nice filler that works well on Linux. Plus I think they did say they'd continue to work on it should it be successful enough, but I can't remember where I read that.
Well, they just released the Messari add-on so I'd say that's definitely indication the game is a going concern for the developers. Especially since Beyond Earth is coming so soon they're going to want to really emphasize what makes their game different and work more in that direction. Can't say I'm not sorely tempted.

Drunken Robot Pornography Video & Thoughts

The bases remind me of "AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome", a game which I'm terrible at. I'm not very good at bullet hell either, for that matter, so I'll probably give this a miss. Does look fun for group play though.

Taking A Look At ADOM, Ancient Domains Of Mystery Roguelike

It's a pity after saying "... we check it out to see if it's any good" you don't actually tell us if it's any good. Was it fun to play? Did the learning curve on the interface negatively impact your experience? Is having all that reading to do a good or bad thing?

There's really very little to go on there. So...is it any good?

Valve Has Yet Again Greenlit 35 More Linux Games For Steam
28 May 2014 at 8:54 pm UTC

So lessee, what excites me in this list?

Well, Otherworld looks like it has potential, but still needs a lot of work.

Black the Fall is...Limbo with guns? There seem to be a few games taking on the Limbo aesthetic these days.

Heileen is notable since it includes the lesbian DLC. Wonder if Steam will make them censor it the way they did with Loren the Amazon Princess.

POP...really surprises me that it got Greenlit. It seems kinda out of place on the Steam platform.

Similarly, Suicide Guy. I mean seriously?

To be honest, the most intriguing to me at the moment is Worlds. There are a few that might look better with more polish, better graphics, etc., but that and maybe Heileen and POP are the only ones I'd really be in a hurry to get for my system. Much lower number than usual, for sure.
