Bosslords and Architect of Ruin from Hooded Horse look great as they refuse to sign AI "art"

That said, with the way public opinion is heading, particularly in the indie gaming space, I don't imagine having people find out you used AI on your game is going to gain you any fans, and some will likely see it as a betrayal. Word spreads fast about stuff like this so it's a heck of a risk.

Quoting: juxuanuOn the other side, as a solo game developer being able to generate some assets for your game can mean your project is now feasible. It'll only cost you all your ethics! A bargain!

I'll be honest, for a new user who's not familiar with Linux, or like me an established user who's bad with complicated tech stuff, what really matters is ease of being able to type "problem + distro name" into a search engine and have a reasonable chance of a cut & paste solution 95% or more of the time.
If I didn't have as much Linux experience as I do, the freakin' mess that is trying to get instructions on how to set up Nvidia drivers on Fedora would have driven me screaming from the distro altogether. And if I was new altogether I'd be back on Windows and hesitant to look again. That's what matters far more than whether the OS is optimized for gaming, whatever that even means these days.

Nice! I was really grabbed by this with the first demo.
Probably going to skip the second and just wait for the full release.

Quoting: LoudTechieI don't think more chatbots and such will make Firefox better, but there is one recent AI feature of Firefox that although I don't use it I think is very good.As far as I'm aware, and I am no expert so I could easily be wrong, but translation is generally Machine Learning (ML), rather than Large Language Model (LLM), which the chatbots and generative AI are built on. It does fall under the "AI" umbrella, but doesn't have the same issues as LLMs such as rampant plagiarism, enormous energy use, black box processing that cannot be audited, generating misinformation, etc. So therefore not really a big issue despite both being under the same umbrella.
The build in translation capability. I had to download all kinds of sketchy extensions to get that to work right for my uncle and now I can just flip a setting.

Nah. Mozilla's burned too much goodwill with their various stunts and I honestly don't trust them any more. It's off to Waterfox for me.

Mozilla Corporation, who makes the browser, is, well...a corporation which can make a profit. This is the entity who's worried about market share and adding AI.

But it can easily be turned off....if you root around in about:config that the system explicitly tells you *not* to do and change a bunch of stuff. This will be enough of a barrier to stop most people from doing it, particularly the less technical minded.
As someone on Mastodon said, "I don't want a virus on my hard drive even if it's turned off".

Not a single thing I'd actually play, but fun visuals I guess. Maybe Divinity, but that's a ways off still.
But then, my "Most Anticipated Game" right now is Slay the Spire 2, so whaddaya want from me?

Melvor Idle and Luanti (Hades Revisited) for the most part. Looking in on other games here and there, but nothing sustained.
