Google reveal Stadia will only have 12 games available at launch, more later in the year

Quoting: EikeEveryone's their own of course, but I'm surprised how many people state no interest at all in Red Dead Redemption 2.
For me it's mostly that westerns aren't really my thing. They're okay, but not something I want to get really immersed in.

By the same token, Assassin's Creed has fun mechanics, but the Ancient Greek setting ain't doing it for me.

Quoting: pskosinskiAs far as I know in US everyone can afford good internet connection but many people can't afford good hardware and I guess that's the target.
Roughly 8% of the US has no access to high-speed internet.

I'd be surprised if my internet here in Canada could handle Stadia. I'm in a big city, but I can't even stream Stardew Valley from Steam to my tablet.

The price and content of the subscriptions ensures i will never feel FOMO also i bc i dont believe fomo is a thing and if it has become a thing we need to destroy social media now.
Oh, poor innocent. It was a thing before social media even existed, it just didn't have a catchy acronym.

Wilderness survival game Wayward has a massive feature update

I've had my eye on this for a while, waiting for it to get to a playable state. The lack of guidance in the early game sounds troublesome, and hopefully the dev will put some work into that soon.

How do the actions "feel", by the way? One of the really smart things that Stardew Valley did was put some feeling of weight and impact into things like digging up earth. Is there a similar feeling that you're doing physical tasks when you do things in this game? Basically, is there good sensory feedback (sound effects, animations) for your actions?

Microsoft confirm their new Chromium-powered Edge browser is coming to Linux

There's been some suggestion that Microsoft isn't finding the OS market to be as lucrative as it used to be, and has an eye toward moving to Google-like services instead. If that's the case, then they may be backing off from the idea that Linux is a competitor in that space. I don't pretend to know much about it, but this would be consistent with such a shift.

Nice! I've had this on my watch list for years now, it's terrific to see it actually coming.

Quoting: ArehandoroI thought Dead Synchronicity was a standalone game? It definitely didn't feel unfinished when I completed it. As for KRZ the last episode is set to be released this year, perhaps we are lucky enough :)
Hasn't KRZ been due "this year" for about three years now? I remember when they said it'd be released for the Switch in, what was it, 2017?

Pretty sure we won't be seeing it any time soon.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Act IV came out in mid-2016, and then there wasn't much for about a year, when they announced it was due in early 2018 [External Link]. Then they released an Act V poster in late 2018 and haven't posted a single bit of news on Steam since, although allegedly they give little dribs and drabs and promises of "soon" on their Patreon, which nets them a tidy sum each month. Even so, I think we can slot it into the "Ridiculously late, we'll be lucky to ever see it" category by this point.

Oh, that's funny. If you click the penguin icon to filter for Linux games, but have Proton enabled for all games, then it doesn't filter anything. Which is behaviour I thought they were going to fix from the old version, but apparently not.

That's kind of what puts me off rogue likes in general. If the run is short i don't mind. Been enjoying Risk of rain wih friends recently.
But when the game is huge , there's a story , a lore you get immeresed in only to have the rug pulled from under you for one mistake is just too frustrating.
I think TOME does a good thing in giving you a n00b option. And the diversity of races/classes etc is still there for me to enjoy.

A bit peeved they added microtransactions.
Wait, there's microtransactions now? I haven't played for a while, so I wasn't aware of it. What are you paying for?

Also, permadeath in Caves of Qud is a similarly silly thing to have by default. It's great for challenge runs, but in a game that's centred around a larger story, I dunno if that works. Doubly so since deaths there are often arbitrary.
