Quoting: GuestI assume "December events lineup" should be "February events lineup". :)
Whoops :D

Quoting: eigensinnigSpecially good was playing natural selection with them, as I think one of the linux porters was in mumble so we could chat with him and give him direct feedback.
Computerquip is a member of the NS2 CDT (Community Development Team [External Link]. It was great to have him along! :)

Quoting: drmothThanks @Cheeseness, no rush but if you get a chance i'd love to know if it works flawlessly. I will get this title, just a question of when....and if I can play it on the couch that might accelerate the 'when' :)
I've done some brief testing and it doesn't seem to recognise my Logitech F310. I haven't had time to file a bug report yet.

Quoting: drmothThis looks fantastic...I never thought I would get a chance to try this game, but there you go.
Steam says it has full controller support, any idea how this fares?
I haven't tried this personally, but I spoke to another reviewer with Linux access, who I believe had tried it with success. I can have a go a bit later on today if you need confirmation.

Quoting: pd12please add Starsiege: Tribes (my favourite game of all time) ^^ to your list of 1998 games xD
Ha ha, the list of noteworthy games from 1998 [External Link] is definitely too big to include :D

Steam Has A Rather Silly Bug, And It Can Remove Your Files

Quoting: srlsboyI hop they fix this soon. Steam just deleted all of my games It downloaded an update and BOOM!
In case you didn't spot the first comment, the issue that this article about has already been resolved.

Regarding games being removed, this is a thing that I've seen a number of times. So long as you don't download anything, it'll be there when you next start Steam.

Invisible, Inc. A Tactical Stealth Game From Klei Entertainment Linux Support Due Soon

Quoting: crabel@tesfabpel: It will count as a Linux sale if you buy it in Linux _and_ don't play it on Windows for at least a week.
It depends on what kind of arrangement Klei have with Alternative Games (They're the people who did Frozenbye's original Trine and Shadowgrounds ports - Klei have been using them for most of their ports). Klei definitely have the ability to see Linux purchases regardless. That first week thing seems like it really only comes into play is Alternative Games are getting a commission from each Linux sale (and since you can launch the game on Linux, that's probably going to make things count even if it crashes straight away since Steam registers that it's being played).

Linux was mentioned in the announcement post as something that's coming soon, not what's in the latest update. The game currently doesn't run on Linux. If you don't already own it, you might be best off holding your horses for now.

The Spectre Of Grim Fandango Looms! GF Remastered Now Available For Pre-Order On GOG (Updated!)

The game's over 16 years old. I don't think there's much risk involved :)

My advice is to only pre-order if you specifically want to support the developers.

If anybody's interested in hearing some more thoughts from Lee Petty on the remastering process, we touched on it in my interview [External Link] with him last year as part of the Double Fine Game Club (around 46 minutes in if you're watching the stream). We're also going to be doing Grim Fandango for Game Club in February (starting on the 7th) and should be able to wrangle a bunch of developers as guests. Anybody's who's interested is totally welcome to join us [External Link].
