Bee management sim Hive Time gets an Informational Update

Quoting: no_information_hereThis looks like such a sweet little game. Cheeseness, do you think you will release on Steam some day?
Thanks!

No plans at this stage. I'm committed to PWYW with a minimum of $0 and a default price, and to allowing purchases/downloads without an account. If Valve implements these features, I'll definitely consider it (that seems unlikely though).

May the Fourth be with you - a look over what Star Wars games are playable on Linux

Quoting: eldakingEmpire at War also works with Proton, last I checked, and it is a good game.
I played halfway through that in Wine back before Steam supported Linux and really enjoyed what I played. Still hoping to have time to dive back into it someday \o/

If anybody's keen to see where these Linux-friendly games lie within the greater chronology of Star Wars games, I've got you covered [External Link] :D

Software news: Inkscape finally hits 1.0 and Krita 4.3.0 gets a first Beta

Exciting times! I used Inkscape for some (now retired) graphics that Liam asked me to do for the site almost a decade ago. I can't recall now, but I think they were based on existing art that someone else had done that there weren't source files for.

Since I've been digging up old artwork [External Link] to share in celebration of the 1.0 launch, here's a quick look at one those for anybody who's interested.

I'm sure that Inkscape's been used for plenty of GOL artwork since, but that's a story for other artists to share ^_^

Lair of the Clockwork God blends an adventure game with a platformer - now out on Linux

So happy to see this one out in the wild, marked as officially supported now! I had a blast playing through this on my first run - Dan's managed to nail crossing the two gameplay styles in a way that many other genre-blurring games fall short of, and in a way that makes sense for the characters and their universe.

The update to resolve Devil's Kiss getting resolution-confused that Liam mentioned above is now live as of a few minutes ago. Woo!

Quoting: HamishMore than happy to give $10 to Cheeseness. As someone who has worked with a professional beekeeper for the last six years we shall see how jaded I have become though. :P
Comments from beekeepers seem positive so [External Link] far [External Link]!

that would have sold me on the game if I wasn't already enjoying it.
Aww, thanks <3

It took a long time for this one to come together and I'm glad to hear that it's doing a good job of representing the game :)

Psyonix are ending support for Rocket League on both Linux and macOS (updated)

macOS and Linux players can reach out directly to Steam to request refunds and they will be honored. In these cases, Steam will make an exception to their 2 hours limit rule.
Yep, they closed out my refund request with a "here's the help link for Steam." Doesn't do me any good when I bought the Steam key on a third-party store (probably Humble or Bundle Stars, but I don't remember any more?).
Steam payout frequency varies from game to game, but it's pretty safe to say that after a couple of weeks, Psyonix will have pulled their revenue out of Steam, so it doesn't really make sense for Valve to be footing the bill for unhappy/abandoned customers there (unless that was part of their involvement in the game being ported to begin with, I guess).
