Quoting: pete910Erm, NO and NO! And never will be !!!!

In truth I don't want it to be either, Let the idiots stay on winXX and let those that actually have brain cells between their ears come to use Linux

Have you seen some of the software reviews on GNOME Software or KDE Discover by any chance? I don't think you have to be a computer expert to use desktop linux lol.

Honestly in my opinion, people who are interested in linux are already using it in some capacity and everyone else could care less. It doesn't help that the only 'gaming' PC you're going to find that comes with it preinstalled is the Steam Deck.

Lutris version 0.5.10 brings improved Steam Deck support but no Flatpak yet

How does the Flathub Beta repo of Lutris work? If I understand it's unofficial but should it work temporarily for Steam Deck users until the official support?

Could be wrong about all of this lol.

Edit: I don't think it works too well from what I can tell out of the box in my experience. I guess it's just going to take time.

GNOME 42 released with the new global dark-style preference

Having used GNOME 41 for my laptop with Fedora and I just recently switched my desktop to OpenSUSE TW with KDE. I like both a lot. They have their own quirks and when Fedora 36 is out of beta I might check it out and switch back.

My old Chromebook is running Fedora right now lol, and it's a lot better IMO, but this is neat I guess.

My favourite 2021 games played on Linux

I still can't believe Valheim is under 1GB, yet you look at new games that don't even have nearly as much content that are now over 80+ GB of space. Valheim is a great game and stands out in a bloated genre of open world craft-a-thons.

Well correction: it might be a little over 1GB at most. But I think I still have a point.

Quoting: MaggyWas working for me yesterday, played for a good few hours.

today its unplayable, however I can be in a "lobby" with friends for ages, but as soon as you start a campaign, ...disconnect.

somethings changed in the last few hours I think.
Yup. Same thing happened to me last night.

Steam Play tool Luxtorpeda gets some needed upgrades and better KDE Plasma support

Quoting: MekaDragonIt's crazy to see GNU/Linux starting to have more choices for gaming on Steam than Windows lol.
Now if we could just get something like Launchbox... Only reason I have Windows on my tower hooked up in my living room is for it. (Launchbox is a frontend to a ton of different gamestores / emulators, etc. Think BPM with trailers / screenshots / etc for everything from Steam, to Mame to Amiga). problem is, it's written in .Net and doesn't quite work well with Linux... and even if it did work under Proton / Wine, the emulators themselves would also need to be wrapped.

Seriously need some Linux native competitor to it :)
Yeah the closest alternative I can think of is Gamehub, but I think that's more of a Lutris / PoL alternative rather than Launchbox.

One of my favorite projects for Proton. I would even say it's just as important to have installed as Glorious Eggroll's Proton.
