NVIDIA release 550.90.07 stable and 555.52.04 Beta drivers for Linux
6 Jun 2024 at 7:37 am UTC

Improved the ability of nvidia-modprobe to detect whether kernel modules are already loaded. This corrects an issue that prevented nvidia-persistenced from setting persistence mode on some systems.
Anyone knows if this fixes the problems of the Debian kernel 5.10.0-29 with nvidia drivers, especially at the mx linux 21 distro? Thanks in advance.

On a side note: what's with this system requirements? 8 GB RAM and 16 GB of disc space for a game that is basically a text adventure with some animations? I mean, from the looks of it it is not much more than the original Monkey Island.

It would be nice if games would portray gunplay more realistically. Light weapons always at the ready, but heavier weapons, like assault rifles, have to be brought to the ready first. In fights, the purchase price is usually not the deciding factor as to whether a pistol, submachine gun or long weapon is used. Blocking the field of view can be one aspect of it.

What is it that drives people so mad about the DLC policy of PDX, i really don't get it. Noone is forcing you to buy one of them, if you don't feel like it. If you wait just a while, they are usually on 50% discount after 2 years, and on rare occasions they appear in a humble bundle for even more. I wait for a new Humble Bundle for EU4 for a while now and i really have high hopes, since EU5 is at the horizon. For Stellaris i dont wait at all, since the base game + a hand full DLC grabbed in a bundle + free content updates is more than enough content for me at the moment.

You have to chill out on your FOMO.

My thoughts on this ...
I am generally of the opinion, but especially when it comes to games, that unused intellectual property should become public domain after a certain period of time. This should apply to trademarks, patents and copyrights.

You could also ask what "PvPvPvE" should be. I mean, I get the idea, but it isn't a common term and a not exactly self-explanatory.
I have still two questions: is there a way to play single player and are there plans regarding anti-cheat (the later question is interesting for every competetive game, since we all know the shenanigans which come with anti-cheat + Linux).

Roblox now helping fund Blender development

I have very mixed feelings about this news. Not only that Roblox refuses to take responsibility for the social channels surrounding their game, which leads to a lot of harassment of children happening there. That alone makes the company very unappealing. Furthermore, I find the entire business scheme questionable when the work of minors is monetized under questionable conditions. You have to realize that: around 80 million quarterly profit based to a not exactly small extent on the work of underaged.

Quoting: fenglengshun... it's better that way. People should ... allow for alternative use and viewpoints ... And this is why Nix + Flatpak are indeed the superior way of shipping packages

Do I miss something or are these pretty overpriced? I can get the same setup at nearly half the price. And the configurator doesn't tell me anything about the mainboard, ports / connectors, fans, energy consumption, noise, dimensions, ...
Who is buying something like that?

Also @Liam: you just copy-pasted their i5-125400 CPU.
