Anyway, the usual solution to work around this is a third party compositor like compton. Some distros do this by default. Mint Xfce seems to let you pick your own wm+compositor combination in the "desktop" settings panel, with "Xfwm4 + Compositing" as default. It's actually the only sane default as long as they want to support systems with older integrated graphics. I just tried with a first-gen i3 and opengl-based compositors were too sluggish for comfort.
Aaaand we're way off topic.

Quoting: wvstolzingBy TearFree I meant the driver option. Not something a DE can enable or disable. That's up to your distro. But sure, many alternatives have better compositors than the one in Xfwm4.Quoting: BrisseI see you are using xfce and I'm not surprised. TearFree is enabled out of the box on most sane mainstream DE's like Gnome and KDE. I'm not saying xfce is bad because it certainly has it's place, but the issue in your case isn't with AMD, it's with xfce's bad defaults.I get screen tearing even on intel integrated, with XFCE (compositor on).

I only recently switched (back) to AMD, and immediately had to enable TearFree to fix tearing issues so the difference isn't as dramatic as you make it seem. When it comes to this particular issue that is. Of course there are other things AMD and even Intel do better than Nvidia, even if you ignore the ideology. But this is getting a bit off topic so I'll leave it there.

Quoting: ShmerlI wouldn't say I didn't have any issues, but (opengl/vulkan) v-sync mostly just worked. I remember I used to have tearing with video playback before all the players supported hardware acceleration (vdpau), but it's been a while.Quoting: tuubiThat doesn't really match my experience, but I guess I'll take your word for it.You mean you didn't have any tearing issues even without using that "forced pipeline" setting? When I was using Nvidia, I constantly had them. vsync plainly didn't work at all.

Quoting: ShmerlThat doesn't really match my experience, but I guess I'll take your word for it.Quoting: tuubiThe point of Nvidia's full compositor pipeline setting is that it'll prevent tearing even if you disable v-sync. I think AMD's TearFree option has a similar effect. The point of that "forced pipeline" is really because normal vsync is broken on Nvidia, unlike on AMD. That's why it's plagued with tearing on Linux.

Get Deponia: The Complete Journey free in the Humble Winter Sale Encore

I'd say the puzzles were about as logical as you'd expect from a surreal comedy adventure. Certainly no worse than in some of the classics. I'll take your word on the bugs though. I might very well have bumped into a couple myself, but can't remember the specifics. Certainly nothing game-breaking or I wouldn't have finished.
Too bad the giveaway doesn't seem to include Humble's DRM-free download, unlike the version I got a while back in a bundle.

Quoting: GuestDeponia is an horrible game, bugged and with illogical puzzles, a pain to play even for free. That's a bit harsh I think. I actually enjoyed the game(s) quite a bit (despite the unlikable protagonist). Steam reviews are "mostly positive" so I don't think I'm alone.

Keep up the good work Liam (and contributors of course). This is the only gaming related website I peruse and enjoy on a regular basis, not in small part due to the great community. Unless something drastic happens, you can expect me to keep pitching in for the foreseeable future.

Quoting: ShmerlThe project sure could use more contributors. Development seems active enough, but ripping out Allegro seems like a major undertaking nobody seems interested in tackling.Quoting: tuubiAnother AGS veteran going commercial, if I'm not mistaken. Wishlisted.I wish AGS would migrate to SDL2 already. Their Allegro backend is seriously messed up.

Quoting: liamdaweThere is still one part that could be an issue, although not a big one, which is this:Aren't you ignoring the words "a stylized version" in that quote?
Third Party Service providers may not, without Unity’s express written permission: (1) use a stylized version of any Unity name, trademark, logos, images or product icons, or other Unity-owned graphic symbols; So unless you're approved by Unity, any service that integrates with it won't be able to display their logo.
