'Battle Chasers: Nightwar' is a visually stunning RPG inspired by a comic, that might be released next year

Really pretty, but all the randomness doesn't sound that appealing. AFAIK random dungeons are a rarity in those console greats they claim to be inspired by. Maybe it's all in the battles then.

Quoting: slaapliedjeFor the love of the universe and all that is nature STOP with the goddamn "stylized" logos. This flat design is terrible! The icons on the stock Atari ST were terrible in 1985, and they are better than this new "stylized" crap.
An effective logo for a brand is always relatively simple, and should work and be recognizable without color and in different sizes. Icons have similar requirements, but not every icon needs to work as a logo. Personally I prefer simple, symbolic icons in my system tray, simply because they're tiny and need to be easy to parse, but those 96px game launchers on my gaming desktop can be as colourful and detailed as they like.

In the end all art is subject to individual taste. It's hard to please everyone. Ask any artist.

It's a cool design and all, but sitting on that sharp wedge can not be comfortable. Seriously, seeing this logo at larger sizes always makes me clench involuntarily. Why do you make me worry about Tux's butt?

Saints Row IV gets Steam Workshop support for Windows, they are hoping to update the Linux version too

Quoting: GuestI played Saints Row IV to the end a few months ago and had no issue with it that I can remember. And it wasn’t hard to configure it to reach 60 FPS with good graphics (on a Core i5 / GTX 660).
The original Windows port isn't great though, and this is even more evident on Linux. Sure it looks fine and runs okay on my i7 + GTX 960, but I pretty much need to give up on AA and post-processing effects to get rid of occasional fps drops and minor visual glitches. Plenty of fun for a few euros anyway. More pros than cons in my book.

Quoting: kellerkindtMad Max gave me a lot of unexpected good playing hours, so I can really recommend it.
Shadow of Mordor was a bit of a disappointment, I really hope Max is a bit more fun.

Quoting: 0aTTThe elderly will never switch to Linux/SteamOS. No matter whether such a shooter appears for it or not.
My elderly relatives were the easiest to convert. Of course they wouldn't install Linux themselves, but they don't care about the computer beyond beyond the basics. As long as they can write emails, play a simple solitaire game or two, maybe write something with a word processor, they're happy. Their lack of interest in gaming makes things easier.

It's the kids who are generally the most resistant. They want to use whatever their friends use and a single game can keep them on Windows. They're too young to worry about security and privacy.

I know this doesn't apply to all elderly people everywhere, just my experience. Sorry if I offended any nerdy gamer grannies or grandpas.

Tons of good games on my wishlist so I'll have plenty to choose from. I'll probably have to skip the autumn sale, but I'm hoping to bag Rocket League and/or Mad Max around Christmas. SHENZHEN I/O looks awesome as well.

Nvidia 375.20 stable driver released, increases OpenGL shader cache size and more
20 Nov 2016 at 5:30 pm UTC

Don't know if related, but in Saints Row IV characters started glitching out after about 40 mins of gameplay after upgrading to this driver, and not in a way they're supposed to. (You know what I mean if you've played it.) I think I'll go back to the 370 series for now.

Alien: Isolation – The Collection is currently rather cheap on the official Feral store

Quoting: dfrnHow scary is the game? I really don't like scary stuff. Especially Jump scares (which is basically the lamest way to scare people in media).
Scaredy-cats unite! I've only played a few hours so far, but mostly it's about the butt clenching tension of survival than actual brown-pants scares. It's a sci-fi thriller like the Alien movies more than outright horror. There's a constant sense of peril as you explore the space station. The game's stressful enough to keep me playing in short stints, and difficult and frustrating but the atmosphere is spot on and the experience is good.
