Rufus is a dick. Not even a lovable scamp like our furry psychopath friends Sam & Max. I don't know how anyone could actually like him as a protagonist. Sorry, Sanshiro. ;) Still I couldn't help enjoying the trilogy. The world of Deponia is refreshingly original and the production values are mostly top-notch. IMHO well worth playing and paying for.

So yeah, I don't like Unity at all either, but I don't mind that others do. It's mostly a matter of preference after all.

Quoting: scaineYou can't move it for many reasons. Best use of screen space, assumptions can be made about layout, fits with the phone/touch paradigm, code base is significantly simpler. With hindsight, the phone paradigm is the main winner here. Why would I want my mouse-and-keyboard controlled desktop with a large monitor to work like a phone with a tiny touch screen, especially when I'm not the least bit interested in getting an Ubuntu phone? I'd get it if this was an alternate UI or something, but for the default UI of a mainstream desktop distro this sounds just a bit insane. This is the kind of "shut up you like it if we say you like it" design I very much dislike when practiced by MS and especially Apple.

Quoting: mastereduJust think about, if you would have friends and family, would you *really* recommend them to use Linux? Like really? I wouldn't.I do have friends and family, and I've recommended Linux to them for years. Many of them have switched (often with my help) and none have complained. My friends and family are mostly not gamers, though. I'm sorry your experience with Linux hasn't been as positive.

This is about early access, right? The actual release might still be simultaneous.
OT: Personally I don't get why people are so eager to play unfinished games. No early access for me, ever.

EDIT: Samsai was quicker.
Just for reference, I'm pretty sure this is where Samsai gets his numbers:
I've got a GTX 760 as well, and this screenie shows the relevant section of NVIDIA X Server Settings.

Quoting: liamdaweAlso, I'm surprised MATE is as low as it is, it's great!Part of it might be the overlapping "target market" with more established traditional DEs like Xfce. Well, more established only if you forget that MATE is basically GNOME2, but my point still stands.

Quoting: NovenWhich controllers are you talking about? I would love an excellent controller because my Logitech F310 does not work.Weird. My F-310 works perfectly (in XInput-mode) on Mint. Out of the box, even. Either there's something missing in your setup or your controller is broken. Have you tried if jstest-gtk detects it correctly?

Quoting: NovenThis is why I am glad the Steam controller will be out eventually. Having a native supported controller will be very nice. There are already several controllers with excellent native support in Linux (with SDL2). Sadly that does not translate to universal support in games. Even some big budget titles/ports manage to mess things up. I doubt this will change overnight when the Steam Controller comes out. I also doubt the dual touchpads can beat more conventional controller designs in certain types of games, but we'll see.

Quoting: EKRboiI tried Mint once, I remember having a terrible time getting rid of/blacklisting nouveau in Mint over its cousin Ubuntu..The weird thing is, I haven't had a single problem with the xorg-edgers ppa since I switched to Mint a few releases ago, and I had tons when I ran Xubuntu.
