Quoting: 1xokWith Insurgency being unsupported. Shame.
What's the matter with Insurgency?
I started it up, it's native... what is not working?
Default settings work on the Steam Deck's hardware? Fully playable with a controller?

I'm sure there are plenty of games that support Linux just fine, but aren't playable on the Deck out of the box for some reason.

Quoting: melkemindKind of funny to see Rocket League on there when it's no longer even available for sale. Valve is definitely "being the bigger man" in their conflict with Epic.
If there is one. They seem to have worked well together for the EAC issue. I am still amazed that Valve gave me a refund for Rocket League after Linux support was dropped. I had over 400 hours in it.
I think I was closer to 550 hours. And still I feel the refund was completely justified.

Quoting: prosoorNo this is not "Gaming on Linux". This is gaming in Windows emulator, that runs on Linux.
So I could play PSX or Amiga games and say it's "gaming on Linux".
No.
Gaming on Linux is when a game runs on Linux.
Hey I get your frustration, I stick to native games as well, but you might want to take a look at GOL's posting rules before you run further afoul of them:
- Talking about zealotry, we are Gaming On Linux and not "Gaming on Linux only native titles or GTFO". If you be a nuisance when talking about Steam Play / Proton, DOSBox, Wine, Cloud Gaming, Emulation and so on, we will give warnings and take further action if needed. Allow people to enjoy what they want, don't be a gate keeper. We don't need constant comments about how you won't buy a game if it's not native, as just one example.

Quoting: EikeI think it was meant to mean X is working better with Proton on Linux than natively on Windows.
That's what I initially thought too - but if you read carefully that's not what they say, and reiterate.

Quoting: tuubiIt's about DXVK and VKD3D, which can be used on Windows as well to translate from Direct3D to Vulkan. They're not tied to Proton or Wine.
How do you make that work within Steam on Windows? Startup parameters?
I think you just need to drop the correct DLLs from DXVK next to the game's executable to override the system provided D3D libraries, but check out Mar2ck's post above. Apparently there are game-specific tools to make this easier.

Honestly, I've done my best to avoid anything to do with Windows for the last 20+ years, so I'm not the best person to answer this question.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyProton actually worked better on Windows than the native Windows version on Windows, due to Vulkan not triggering certain NVidia driver malfunctions.
I still don't understand any of this ... Is this a meme I am not aware of? An internal joke?

There's no Proton for Windows? There's no Wine for Windows? You can't run Steam Play on Windows at all?

Quoting: einherjarMy 6800 XT came today. So I will switch to AMD after years of using NVidia - I hope I will not regret that.
Just make sure your kernel and Mesa are up to date. Seeing as you're on Kubuntu, I suggest you take a look at Kisak's Mesa PPA [External Link].

Asking the developer might be an option. How about it Liam?

Quoting: EhvisThe price difference between Humble and Steam is a bit silly. But doing a native port for the Steam deck and Linux is definitely something I want to support.
It's also kind of silly that on Humble the base game is exactly the same price as the "Warrior Edition" bundle with the OST and the two content DLC. But of course both editions are much cheaper on Steam with the discount.

I was about to buy the bundle on Steam, but then I remembered I've already got these on GOG. Bought Unavowed instead.

Quoting: syylkOTOH, we could say that 15% of titles cannot work on Linux whatsoever.

Which doesn't sound good.
Sounds pretty damn great to me. It would have been 85% not that long ago.
