Quoting: scaineI'm not sure I love the look of it, but it reminds me of Rebelstar on the Spectrum [External Link], believe it or not! And I didn't know until I googled it just there, but Rebelstar was the precursor to Xcom, so I guess I'm getting the same vibe as Liam!
Wow Rebelstar is even more ancient (1986 on spectrum). Laser Squad [External Link] mentioned by Liam was released on zx spectrum two years later on 88 and a bit more fine tuned. Both designed by Julian Gollop, so they're XCOM precursors indeed.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip!

Anyway I got this game some months ago, because it had those Laser Squad vibes. And now with this update they even got it translated in Portuguese.

You can buy the releases on itch or just build the code available on github: https://github.com/SolarLune/masterplan [External Link] . It seems developed on Go along with just a couple of dependencies for dialogs and copy paste on the distro level.

Quoting: mao_dze_dunGamerOS (that name IS stupid)
About the name, there is huge thread on discord about the dev asking feedback and suggestions for names, but and actually it's really difficult to find a good one. Most are taken by other gaming or semi-gaming related websites / products, or focus on a non-core feature of the OS.

No good one has been found yet (or at least when I looked at it 1-2 months ago)

Quoting: Purple Library GuyIs it just me or does it feel like a bunch of older open source games are being revitalized lately?
Seems that to me too. I hope UFO: Alien Invasion [External Link] benefits from that too (...)
Instantly though the exact same thing.

The itch.io charity bundle hits over $4 million and now over 1,500 items inside

Gangbeats [External Link] was just published in Itch.io probably just to be included on the bundle too which they tried 4h ago, but it seems they are not accepting new entries [External Link] to the paid bundle...

What was interesting is that they wrote on their new page:

DISCLAMER
The DRM-free version of Gang Beasts DOES NOT SUPPORT ONLINE GAMEPLAY, online game modes for Windows, macOS, and Linux are only supported in the Steam, Oculus Rift, and Oculus Rift S versions of the game as the online servers for Gang Beasts use Steam and Oculus APIs for authentication.
But I don't see such a disclaimer on the Humble Bundle store [External Link] where they're also listed as DRM free...

Wow... suddently I have more wishlisted games on itch from a single bundle, then months of random (though some AAA) Epic freebies :woot:

As for finding out the last added, someone compiled a Google Spreadsheet [External Link] (current reddit thread here [External Link] and original now buried comment here [External Link].

Tips:
  • You can sort by type: physical game (tabletop), soundtrack, asset. No category means a digital game...

  • To check last added sort / filter by batch. Current one is 4 (Celeste, etc.)

  • To find the good stuff it might also help to sort by both rating (5 is good) and ratings count (more is popular). Overly bundled stuff might have a low count as people have it on other platforms.

itch.io has a huge bundle going to support 'Racial Justice and Equality'

Some are even on the current humble bundle choice: The Stillness of the Wind, The King's Bird (though not linux, and steam keys are not included in the mega bundle)

Wow... one more that by itself is a complete steal on that gargantuan bundle their doing.

I can't recommend it enough. Someone even created a bootable raspberry image that turns into a pico8 arcade machine.

Also there are other stuff there too, like pen and paper roleplaying games. One of them, Blades in the Dark pdf alone is a steal in this bundle.
