HoloISO brings Valve's SteamOS 3 from the Steam Deck to everyone
6 May 2022 at 12:08 pm UTC

Quoting: mihalycsabaSo is there any performance improvements on an AMD machine compared to a regular arch install?
I don't think so. If you really want to test, install Valve's kernel (neptune) to regular Arch.

Fortnite added to Xbox Cloud Gaming, easier than ever to play on Steam Deck

Quoting: lejimsterPlaying games through streaming services suck in my experience.
I tried Fortnite on cloud too and it sucked hard both with 5 GHz WiFi and wired. Heavy (1 sec+) input lag, dropped frames, low resolution.(probably 720p) Hardly playable. Perhaps it has something to do with that I had to use VPN.

Was Linux a worthy and reliable alternative to Windows back then? Were open standarts ie. OpenGL useful?

Quoting: NonjuffoAccording to Linux GPU stats 1.82% (AMD AMD Custom GPU 0405) were surveyed on Steam Deck. So the 14% share increase doesn't come directly from Deck users (Not that anyone claimed it did).
In the previous month, Deck APU was recorded as AMD Van Gogh. Interesting to see this change.

PS. The %1.82 Steam Deck record is among Linux users, not everyone.

Isn't it a bit fast to release, right after Ubuntu release? I'd expect waiting at least 20 days.
