I really don't get where to place bottles besides wine and proton and steam. I even asked this on their support forum. What is bottles usecase?
Is it supposed to be similar to lutris/gamehubs/etc? One app to manage all your games with different launchers.
Or should I use steam and link it to each individual bottle? Put isn't it then like proton?

Actual performance of the deck doesn't matter that much, since I connect to the dev machine via SSH anyways

Quoting: Liam DawePeople dismissing it definitely miss the point. Hook up a cheap bluetooth keyboard + mouse, plug into a monitor and it's a pretty good PC, and more powerful than the PC I already know some developers make their games with. It's about what you have and can access, just like how a RaspberryPi is the only PC some people have.Yeah, I actually bought the steam deck as a productivity machine on the go. I have special setup with external monitor and mechanical keyboard, so losing the laptop modules and just having "the brain" is ideal for me. I also plan to plug in my o quest via immersive screen sharing, so I can code in VR.

How can I get multiple mouse pointers? That's something I wanted to have forever! I think it's one of the things that holds back voice control and automation back the most...

Have you tried the steam big picture mode browser for xbox? Somebody on Reddit said it works if you remove all the controls mapping for the controller so it's seen as gamepad

Quoting: pseudexI'm pretty sure if there is a deck V2 it will be backward compatible with the first one.The minute I heard about this, I bought it! And because I loved the concept and it running on Linux, I wanted to support it so I bought the top tier! I guess there are a lot of enthusiastic people like me. Because tbh it can't bet the specs
Surprisingly they sold more top tier decks then they thought. So far valve still earns my trust in buying the most expensive one. Unbelievable how open they are with it and the partnership with ifixit is unbelievable good news.
That's what I would call a sustainable product!
Steam Play tool Luxtorpeda for running games in native Linux engines sees a major upgrade

Quoting: EikeAh thanks! Now I get itQuoting: Liam DaweInstead of launching through Proton it would run it through a compatible native game engine. To rephrase it, it takes the game data from the Windows version, which is (supposed to be) OS agnostic, and throws it at the native version of the game engine.
XWayland 21.1.3 rolls out supporting NVIDIA 495.44 with the GBM API

Quoting: ridgeCan you use multi monitoring with plasma Wayland now? I always get a black "bar" at the bottom of my screen where desktop wallpaper and application end, but mouse can travel over. So weird I can't even describe itQuoting: michaldybczakI just updated to Nvidia 495.44 and the Wayland session won't start. Does it mean I must wait for the update of xorg-xwayland 21.1.3 for it to work or something is wrong on my side? The Wayland session in Plasma is a bit broken at the moment, I don't know if egl-wayland still needs an update but I know for sure qtwayland does; for which there's currently a merge conflict: https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtwayland/+/373473 [External Link]
I was able to log in to Plasma Wayland but the screen wouldn't refresh unless I moved my mouse, I built qtwayland from source with the above patch and it works now. Still glitchy, but it's getting there!
As for why you can't even start it I'm not sure, but waiting is probably gonna pay off.

Wait, I don't get it? What does this do exactly?
It's not a emulator layer like proton and it just supports games which support Linux anyways? So why do I need it?
