NVIDIA are investing $5 billion in Intel to develop new chips together

I was wondering what'll happen with the whole Arc series myself. Like why would Nvidia do a deal like this and let Intel continue to make core products that compete with their lineup.

But then there's this:
https://hothardware.com/news/intel-responds-question-future-arc-graphics-following-nvidia-deal [External Link]

which says
"We’re not discussing specific roadmaps at this time, but the collaboration is complementary to Intel’s roadmap and Intel will continue to have GPU product offerings," Intel said in an emailed statement to HotHardware.
But that could easily change. I REALLY hope they keep the Arc series going, because all of us need the competition in this space.

As with most everyone else, I completely agree: GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME WITH THIS GARBAGE.

And yes, please can this bubble burst, like ... today? Tomorrow?

I'm running librewolf on my linux desktop, and orion on macos laptop / phone. Librewolf so far has not incorporated any of the ai fuckery from mozilla, and I'm not sure on orion, will need to check on their stance on that.

on paper it completely makes sense, but in practice in real life? I feel like Intel is so damaged, like maybe beyond saving, that Nvidia and Intel will clash super hard when it comes to actual cooperation aspect. I'd like to see them succeed and come out with some great products to keep the landscape competitive, so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

This looks amazing! I still have CrossCode on my "to play" list for the Deck, so I'm going to need to get to that sooner rather than later it seems.

@shadowofward - if you look at the steam stats, all the distros are one of two variants:

- ubuntu
- arch

it's all either vanilla or variants thereof. I'd say arch (and their variants) are advanced mode, so my recommendation would be Kubuntu to start with. It's modern, feature packed, and has a TON of community support which is great if something goes wrong.

Personally, I'm on cachyos with gnome and loving it - so very much looking forward to this 49 release!
