Quoting: PyreticLOLOL: I didn't think a perfect person would come along, but lo and behold: it happened!Quoting: JarmerWhat exactly is "frame pacing" ...? Is that just referencing lower than expected fps? Or general stuttering like with a lot of unreal engine games? Or some specific technical issue I've never heard of before?Frame pacing is the time taken to generate a new frame.

is the ultrawide support on skyrim better? As in properly adjusts the ui? If so, that's so weird that they would release this broken since presumably being the same engine, it'd be exactly the same changes?

My friend and I had an absolute blast playing this on the couch together when it first came out. It was awesome for one of us to be able to do the digging and then the other to take over dome defenses during the attack phase. SO MUCH FUN.
However ... when it first came out it, I don't think the balance was all that good. We quickly "beat" it just because we could pick the right upgrades and make the dome so incredibly powerful.
We got bored and quit, but then went back and tried it out again when they released the new character with the weird bouncy ball attack. That character was AWFUL ... like how did that even happen. Stopped playing for good then.
Maybe now with this we might give it another go!

This is the same creation engine update that skyrim got a while ago ... basically just updating for modern systems. Ultrawide support, etc... Good update.

- Warhammer Rogue Trader to fix insane balance issues / late game acts
- Starfield to make the bigger changes they announce a while back
- Dragons Dogma 2 to not try to shit itself to death constantly performance wise
- there are others, these are just my top 3

I agree on the addiction thing. From a higher up level I don't really mind it at all, since I would never be enticed by this. But there are TONS of gamers who would, and this feels like the industry just blatantly taking advantage of peoples addictions.

Ahhhh one of the oldest tricks from incompetent corporate management teams.
"Everyone knows our name now and we are synonymous with layoffs, the death of games, horrible management and just general negligence in every possible way?"
"CHANGE THE NAME ...!"
"Also generate some random marketing corporate speak"
"Ladies and Gents, I think we are done here, good job all around, bonuses to everyone."

Quoting: EhvisHOLY SHITBALLS - I thought you might be joking ... but you aren't!!! It's OVER $400 if you buy the game and all expansions.Quoting: JarmerSo now I guess they're just going back to their cash cow: dlc for stellaris. What is the total cost of buying the game with all expansions in 2024? Like $200 or something insane?Haha, optimist. More than double. Figuring out all this DLC stuff feels like work to me. I'll just skip it and go play something else. It's not like I have a shortage of games to dump my time in.

Paradox just keeps getting worse over time. I'm pretty uninterested in supporting anything by them at this point.
Just recently they released the Lamplighters League by one of my fav dev's, but forced day 1 content based dlc (which means instantly I'll never buy it) and then abandoned the entire game and laid off the entire studio.
Then they released the star trek grand strategy game in a beyond broken unplayable state. Which is really incredible since they had Stellaris to go off of. Then they abandoned it as well.
