Been loving Zoria Age of Shattering [External Link]. It's a super fun crpg that has some interesting outpost mechanics and tons of squad member options. It's a small passion project game made by 3 people so it's nowhere near as polished as the big heavy hitting aaa games, but I kind of like that about it. Highly recommend for fans of the genre.

Last Epoch is amazing. I think it's probably the best there is in its genre right now. Nothing else comes even close. I was highly addicted to it last year after it hit 1.0 and got some patches. I got to end game and got a little bored, but maybe I should take another look now!

I only have the rare exception to my rule of never buying anything in EA / kickstarter / etc... and this developer is one of those exceptions. They are just a wonderful studio. I've had this game in my library for a while and I swear it gets updates pretty much just constantly. It's amazing how much work they're putting into this game.
Very much looking forward to release! I typically don't even get into this genre (xcom-likes) but for these devs I certainly will give it a try!

Quoting: shadow1w2No surprise that RPGs fit well on the deck.Totally agree on the sleep and resume function for longer rpgs. I just can't fathom how people can play incredibly complex CRPGS like BG3 with cluttered interfaces on such a tiny screen with a controller. I spent a lot of time in bg3 in the "open all inventories" screen with every characters inventory open, and swapping items around. How would that even be possible on a handheld? There's so many other questions like that.
Being able to sleep the machine and resume quickly is a big help for lengthy games plus playing them on the go.
Least for myself I rarely have the solid uninteruppted free time but plenty of smaller moments which is great for an arcade game run but lengthy stuff if I can't pause and resume I rarely finish even half.
Hope to see some competition in this space for the top Deck rpg.

I think it looks great.
And I'm super excited to test it out on live usb when it's available. Always love trying out new DE!
I also love the System76 hardware, but unfortunately about 80% of what they sell is all intel/nvidia which I'm not interested in. They only have a single laptop and desktop (non threadripper) model that's AMD based. And the desktop model is the smallest one. I just generally prefer larger cases to get more open space for better airflow so the fans turn on less and when they do, it's low rpms. I once did a SFF build and HATED the end result because it sounded like an airplane engine.

Whoa, this is a blast from the past! I think I've had this on my wishlist for ... actually I can't even remember, 4 years? More? I used to have this high on my anticipation radar, since the demo was great and the entire setting was just fantastic, but I guess it somehow got stuck in dev hell if it's still EA after all this time.
I will still keep it on my wishlist, and I hope they can get closer to a release.
