Is this something I could play for a few mins here and there on the Deck? Or is it more something you'd recommend opening on the desktop and just leaving it running for ages while doing other stuff?

Proton Experimental fixes controls in Starfield and supports Assassin's Creed Mirage

At first, Mirage worked out of the box with expiremental on steam, but then the 1.05 update from ubi broke it. You'd get a crash error about not recognizing the gpu or something like that. Within about 24-48 hrs though, there were posts about how to add startup commands to force it to recognize the gpu and launch, and that worked for me. Been using those flags ever since. I suppose now I can remove them.

Or ... not ... the game isn't all that good. I probably won't play it much longer. It's nice to see the back to its stealthy origins, I like the removal of the actionrpg elements, but outside of that it feels very clunky and outdated. Mostly I think their engine is SUPER outdated when it comes to traversing the open world in parkour mode. Basim CONSTANTLY gets stuck on ledges, won't jump where you obviously want him to, will jump where you obviously don't want him to, gets stuck on enemies instead of running by them, gets trapped between two climbable elements therefore not climbing either one, etc etc etc.

This is great news! I was going to start this up soon, but I think I'll wait for these to release then start it. Loved the game when I tested it recently, and this will be great additional content!

KDE Plasma 6 gets a first Alpha release

I'm on an amd radeon 6800xt desktop gpu. I don't use any drivers at all, it's all baked into the kernel. I also don't do any of that laptop stuff (gestures, onscreen keyboard, rotation) so it's a very different experience I guess. Oh well!

I like that the reviews are talking about how it's more story and rpg heavy than just shooter. Looks interesting for sure. Wishlisted!

Plus there are already features in Plasma that aren't even supported on X at all. Like I use the esc key shortcut to put my monitors immediately to sleep when I leave my desk (I know I'll be gone for a while, no sense to waste electricity letting them put themselves to sleep) - that feature works great on wayland but not at all on x. There will just keep being more and more instances like this over time.

Plus plus x doesn't even support high hertz monitors at all, at least for me. Only using Wayland am I able to have my screen set to its native 144.

I have also had no bugs at all that I can attribute to using Wayland over X. So yeah ... it's time to make the switch.

This seems like a great game for the Deck, as it's not as intense as most other base builder survivals.

Nexus Mods App is an in-development replacement for Vortex that will support Linux

this is wonderful news! I also hope that linux support REMAINS throughout their testing and all the way to release. I hope they don't overscope the features, or flashiness, or whatever and decide to drop linux.

The comment by the devs is so true ... "Every step of the modding process is fraught with pitfalls and destructive changes." ... and that's on Windows! Add in a whole other layer of linux wine / proton / etc... issues for us on top of that!

If this is released in good shape on linux, that'll be wonderful for SO MANY older games! I will keep an eye on the project for sure.

Baldur's Gate 3 patch 4 brings AMD FSR 2.2, looking better on Steam Deck

Indeed this patch has completely broken vulkan for everyone. In addition, when I run it in dx11 mode Shadowheart now refuses to move and just stands still. So .... I pretty much can't play the game if one character in my party will not move .... Seems they didn't do any testing on this patch at all. We will just have to wait on a hotfix. Hopefully they can get it out today before the weekend!
