Valve adds support for games using CEG DRM through Steam Play Proton

Quoting: GuestStrange, CEG games well and truly didn't work for me last time tried (admittedly that was probably over a year ago now). Within in that, the only one I want to play is Space Marine, where the (co-op) multiplayer was great fun.
Yeah, it was always a bit of hit or miss with Wine and the Windows client here too. Some CEG games worked with some Wine releases some of the time...

Quoting: GuestOut of curiosity, is there a commit or patch somewhere to go along with this?
All I could spot was this:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/commit/6fdc1b54bc62ea54e573370a49e7d3b2d606ab3f [External Link]

Nothing as far as I can see on the proton-wine side. But I assume most of the work needed was done on the Steam client.

Prepare your wallet for the next confirmed Steam Sale dates

I have exactly 11,67€ saved in my Steam wallet for just this occasion! I sold all those little trading card thingies Valve have persistently foisted on me over the last ten or so years.

Wonder how much it will get me during a sale? 20 games? 25?

Quoting: Purple Library GuyExamples that stand out in my mind are articles on the CBC website (that's Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canada's BBC equivalent), where Chrome seems to show the conversation threads below but Firefox does not, and EBSCO, a major player in scholarly journal publication.
Comment threads on CBC seems to work fine here, Firefox 90.0. EBSCO I can't test (I just mooch journals off Sci-Hub).

Try temporary creating a new profile for Firefox (firefox -P from a terminal) for a fresh setup.

Looks like fun!

For some reason I have missed these games, but did play (and enjoy) the demo of The Frogs [External Link] which I only now found it was inspired by these.

Quoting: slaapliedjeBringing up the decryption for DVD reminds me of all the old shenanigans... like when Debian used to have a non-US repository because it wasn't allowed to install encryption software in the USA... anyone else remember that?
Ah, the old "munitions export without a license" shenanigans!

Proton Experimental gets DEATHLOOP working on Linux with AMD GPUs (update: NVIDIA too)

Quoting: fagnerlnWRC8 is now running here, but sadly my controller don't work

Yeah, these games can be very picky about controllers, even on Windows  Sometimes turning Steam Input off for the game works.

Actually, scratch that!

If you're using a controller and not a racing wheel, you need to change the dll overrides and force Windows version to 7 as per these instructions:

Which TT isle of man? There seems to be a couple of games with that name.

Quoting: fagnerlnGreat! I don't know about WRC9, but none of KT/Nacon games works (older WRCs and TT), if they use the same engine, it start to work.
WRC5 to 10 works, or I should say at least starts here. WRC5-7 do have issues with (some?) steering wheels.
