Quoting: Linux_RocksWe've come a long way since this:
Quoting: Purple Library GuyI had a racing game on my TRS-80. It was a top-down view and the car was a little rectangular blob of white.
How about this?

Quoting: ticktokTriple-I definitely refers to "higher budget indie games" as opposed to triple-A.
Interestingly the term III and Triple-I were just added to the Triple-A Wikipedia page a few months ago.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AAA_(video_game_industry) [External Link]

So I'm guessing it's a super-studio that will allow the various indie studios to collaborate on a bigger budget game while maintaining their individual indie-ness.
Quoting: pbAfter some more consideration, focusing on the name/wording ("initiative") and the (short) time of stated preparations, I think it might be some kind of certification process that will slap "III" badge on the games considered to be "AAA" quality but made by indie developers, as a way of distinguishing them from the indie crowd (and it became a crowdy space indeed).
If that's what it is, I hope that it works out for them. Personally I see "AAA" as a big warning-sign to stay away because it won't be to my tastes, so I'm not sure how labelling indie titles similarly would appear to my mind...

I'm not experiencing any of that, myself. Mint Xfce, stable Steam client, Intel iGPU.

Is it an Nvidia issue? :dizzy:

Quoting: Linux_RocksWhat if it's actually good though? I mean, the Pizza Tower devs added their character to Rivals of Aether via the Steam Workshop.
Unfortunately, that's precisely what I mean by ill-meshing. The entire point of Rivals of Aether is that the characters and world aren't human - it was the focal point of the lore and roster, and was why, for a long time, a running joke was that a car from Rocket League would be added next, taking the pee out of unfitting crossovers that throw in everything under the sun in the process.

And thankfully it's really a chocolate-factory experience, unlike the Glasgow Willy Wonka scam [External Link]!

Quoting: Liam DaweWhat if it includes Bomberman? :P
I would still be a grumpy git about it. I'm really not a fan of most crossovers these days, I'm very burnt-out on them.

Besides, your list didn't include current Bomberman developer Hexa Drive (who are an indie studio) or Konami (who I don't think we could say are). You're not about to tell me they're in on this too, are you?

What could this be? A game that they're all part of somehow? A special indie game publisher? A game bundle? A new marketing push for indie games but not specifically a publisher? Something else entirely? A few months isn't a lot of time to prepare a new game, especially with so many involved, so I doubt it's that.
Hopefully not some hackneyed ill-meshing unnecessary crossover! I'm bloody sick to death of those.

Building a Retro Linux Gaming Computer Part 40: The Cyborg Project

with some mandatory platforming only possible through keysmashing.
Ooh, the worst kind! No wonder Mr. Gutter looks so angry!

This is unfortunate, as the cheat codes "LINUSISGOD" and "LINUXRULES" clearly show that the Swedish developers were indeed friends of the penguin. In fact, typing in "MICROSOFT" will kill the player instantly.
It saddens me to realise that there are people who would get unreasonably upset about this today, rather than have a good chuckle at it like the joke it so clearly is.
