Quoting: shorbergAn alternative to EmuDeck is RetroDeck, similar idea but with more emphasis on convention over customization. So what's the difference between RetroDECK and EmuDeck? [External Link]RetroDECK is my preference, too. If I remember right, it's forked from 351ELEC, which was a custom firmware for the Anbernic RG351MP emulation handheld, so it does the one thing it's supposed to, and does it very well indeed - EmulationStation is the cherry on top.
I've found it worked better for me on the deck, on my desktop though I would probably want to have more control due to varying hardware.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderA whole long post without mentioning Bomberman???......HAHAHAHAHA! There weren't any Bomberman games in the sale, unfortunately. In my defence, there was still a cutesy robot franchise in my post, just a different one.
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THE REAL PENGLING?!?!?!?!..........

I've got a few recommendations to share, too, if I may!
Ape Out [External Link] (Deck Verified, ProtonDB Platinum) £2.74 (75% off) - A rare modern maze-chase game where a gorilla violently escapes from various tough procedurally-generated scenarios, all set to a jazz soundtrack that responds to your actions!
Mega Man 11 [External Link] (Deck Verified, ProtonDB Gold) £8.24 (67% off) - The best-selling [External Link] game in Capcom's classic platform-shooter series, and a good jumping-on point for newcomers, with a charming, uncomplicated story and a raft of difficulty-settings and dub/sub options.
Mutant Mudds Deluxe [External Link] (Deck Playable, ProtonDB Platinum) £0.69 (90% off) - An HD version of an alien-busting 8/16-bit-style indie platformer originally released as an early downloadable title for the Nintendo 3DS, tweaked so that it's even better now than it was then. An absolute must for platformer fans.
Nippon Marathon [External Link] (Deck Playable, ProtonDB Mixed due to problems in older reports) £2.99 (75% off) - An utterly insane multiplayer on-foot racing game, inspired by the comedic Japanese game-show classic, Takeshi's Castle [External Link], where you must choose one of four incredibly weird characters and try to win the famous Nippon Marathon - whilst taking on the machinations of its shady champion!
The Disney Afternoon Collection [External Link] (Deck Verified, ProtonDB Gold) £3.99 (75% off) - A set of six Capcom-made Disney games from the heyday of the Nintendo Entertainment System - Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers 2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, DuckTales 2, and TaleSpin (some of them rare and expensive on the secondary market, making this a welcome official re-release) - all perfectly suited to handheld play, plus new Boss Rush and Time Attack modes.
There's a lot of good stuff in this sale!
As an aside, Fanatical is running a Birthday Mystery Bundle, but since they don't provide lists of what you might get, there's not enough I can write about to submit an article, so I'll just leave the link here [External Link].

Oh this is great - it reminds me of the mini "mission" scenarios in some games like Mario Kart DS, in a way. Can't wait!

Quoting: slaapliedjeYeah, I'm surprised there isn't a bit more news here about it, as it's just as much a Linux gaming device as Steam Deck is...You should submit some articles! You've shown a lot of knowledge about it and about what current-Atari is up to, and in spite of the concerns I expressed earlier, I'm genuinely happy to see new management that actually cares about Atari's legacy and wants to do good things with it, so I'd love to read more about it (UK also here, so not able to get a VCS either ).

Quoting: gbudnyIn 2009, Linux had access to Flex, Air, Flashplayer (with the GTK menu), and Adobe Reader. Later, Adobe one by one started to abandon these applications for Linux. It was painful to observe it.It seemed funny to me to see all of the lamentations about Flash meeting its end not too long ago, when, for us Linux users, the web has been (mercifully) Flash-free for much longer.

Quoting: ShmerlGraphics API is Sony specific. That's what would probably need most work as usual. That's a fair point! I still find it weird how they went straight to porting the most-recent titles, though. But, whatever, it's a good thing!

Quoting: CyrilI'm not surprised, doing a remake could cost a lot of money I think, and not sure if the sales would be enough for them.I think the money side is the main one - considering that the PS4 is an x86 PC running a fork of FreeBSD, I can't imagine that porting itself would've been so tough. That's why I was surprised.

Quoting: CyrilBecause at my knowledge none of these games have PC ports...I expected them to do ports of the older stuff before porting the more recent ones, myself. It was quite surprising to me when that wasn't the course they took!
