Quoting: ElamanOpiskelijaHey! I had already figured out my workaround for Tekken. Now it comes already fixed. What am I supposed to do? Actually play now?
Silly ElamanOpiskelija. Linux users don't play games. They just tinker with getting them running.

Feral GameMode v1.8 out now with CPU core pinning and parking

Quoting: sonic2kkShould be noted that this not only comes pre-installed on SteamOS but that it powers a lot of the Steam Deck's Game Mode performance behind-the-scenes!
What do you mean?
Feral gamemode is not active when running games from Steam Deck game mode

AMD RADV Ray Tracing to potentially get much faster on Linux

Quoting: EhvisIt's kind of funny that the author of the MR suggests that it probably won't get merged because it only benefits D3D12 and vkd3d already has an MR that can do the same thing. Could be two separate projects solving the same problem at the same time.
They have both communicated together while it was going on so both projects weren't working on it independently without knowledge of the other. The mesa work started first and a MR was opened but after some talk it was decided it made more sense for it to be implemented in vkd3d-proton for now.

GE-Proton removes the dxvk-async patch in version 7-45

Quoting: ben-greenDoesn't this also require clearing the shader cache?
Not unless there is a bug

Also note that the ANV MR hasn't been merged yet. It's been sitting for 9 months.
Radv support via the env var should first come in Radv 23.0 afaik

Vulkan-based D3D9, 10 and 11 translation layer DXVK version 2.0 out now

Quoting: t3gI guess this screws over Ubuntu 22.04 users unless they upgrade to 22.10, wait for a backport, or move to Pop_OS which has 22.2 and 6.0.6 of the Linux kernel right now.
Only mesa 22.0 is needed to use dxvk 2.0 🙂

Vulkan-based D3D9, 10 and 11 translation layer DXVK version 2.0 out now

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoWhat do you mean with that, exactly?
It means your Vulkan driver needs to implement the `VK_EXT_graphics_pipeline_library` extension to use the feature. The only currently released stable driver which supports it is Nvidias 520 series drivers. AMD (radv) and Intel (ANV) are still working on it.

Proton 7.0-5 is coming soon improving Steam Deck / Linux gaming

Quoting: GroganAhh if you take a look at dxvk master, he's not incremented the version. To get it to say "1.10.3" you'd have to check out a tag (and then you'd have an older commit)

https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk [External Link]

"RELEASE [meta] Release 1.10.1 7 months ago" <--- master branch

I don't like that one bit, it seems unprofessional, but it doesn't matter. If you build master, it will be versioned as 1.10.1
Master is based on 1.10.1 and its next release will be 2.0.0.
The 1.10.2 and 1.10.3 releases are based on a seperat backwards compatible branch.
Tho yes it can be a bit confusing.

Proton Experimental bumps minimum driver version, more playable on Linux and Steam Deck

Note that this is only relevant for for dx12 games and is because vkd3d-proton now requires the
VK_KHR_dynamic_rendering vulkan extension which is included with mesa 22 and Nvidia 510. dxvk games should still be fine.
And yes this has been a requirement with GE since GE-proton7-10

Edit: And also VK_KHR_maintenance4 was made mandatory more recently as rcrit said earlier. They overlap with their additions to the drivers.
