Thanks for this article - I was able to get Starship Troopers working on Deck successfully by following it.

However cloud saves don't seem to be working for me. Despite saying 'Steam Cloud: Up to date' there's no sign of my previous saves from my PC playthrough at all. The only option I get is to start a New Campaign which I'm not interested in (I'm about 16 missions into the game). Any ideas?

Nice - just ordered one (you get 15% off your first order too). As for use cases - I like to use it propped up vertically when playing RTS games with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse when I'm not able to hook it up to another screen. I also like to have it setup like this on my desk when transferring emulator ROMS and stuff across. It's just easier for me to use like this.

It's still blown out of proportion, though.
I won't play the game due to hating that art style, as will a lot of others I imagine. It simply was not a good choice and they will lose customers over it.
But the game will likely do well, regardless - it's a Monkey Island, after all.

I did a quick scroll through the comments of the archived site and couldn't see anything particularly heinous, just a fairly even mix of love it/hate it posts. If that's the reason he's shut down the comments then on the face of it it does seem like a pretty childish thing to do.

I too won't be getting the game purely because of the way it looks but I'd hazard a guess that we are part of a small vocal minority and like you said it will still do well regardless.

Never had this problem of things being ripped apart on social media before they had even released back in the day. You just got a magazine review and possibly word of mouth from your mates and that was it. Simpler times indeed.

Was initially excited to hear about this but in all honesty the art style has completely killed any enthusiasm I had for it. It simply looks horrendous. Call me shallow but having started out with these games on my Amiga 500 I have a preconception of what Guybrush and his compatriots should look like and this doesn't come close. Really can't see me getting past this either which is a shame.

You get just as much character development and lore as in most RPGs. Everything you get, you get for a reason and every individual build is based on decisions, rather then pure luck. Experimenting with the different weapons and powerups keep the gameplay fresh, so it doesn't feel like grinding but pushing for a goal.

Fair enough you make some good points - possibly one to pick up when heavily discounted just in case I don't get on with it.

Yeah I liked the look of Hades when I first saw it in action - but then I realised it was a rogue-like. Not really a big fan of those type of games at all...
