Valve announced more Steam sales and events for 2024

Well, I *am* a working class Marxist. A Marxist-Leninist at that. (As in Lenin's Marxism and a Fidelista, not Stalinism. Though I tend to favor pan-Leninism and pan-Marxism.) But I think splits in the left are stupid, and I favor unity in the left. (In fact to me the only good split was after the closure of the 2nd International. When we Revolutionary Socialists split from the Bourgeois Socialists and their dead weight liberalism and imperialist sympathies.) I also sympathize with the Marxist-De Leonist flavor of Syndicalism, and I support a United Front [External Link] with the Anarchists too.

That all said, material conditions are independent of economic and/or political systems/ideologies. You do what you need to for survival within reason, and you're allowed to have fun and entertainment for yourself. It's really not that hard to get. Furthermore, being frugal and shopping sales to save money is perfectly fine as well.

Quoting: robertosf92Not sure I wanna participate in the Capitalism and Economy fest tbh :grin:
For those who wanna rebel against said sale, you can play Tonight We Riot [External Link] or Daily Thread: The Sewing of Discontent [External Link]. Both are excellent in their own right, but will be even more fitting then. ☭

Linux Mint 21.3 Beta out now with experimental Wayland support for Cinnamon
11 Dec 2023 at 4:54 pm UTC

Quoting: dorronI love Linux Mint, but I'm starting to feel like they are lagging behind with the kernel. I'm always having trouble updating to the latest one because of an old version of libc6...and that cannot be updated! (or at least I don't know how). Maybe someone can shed some light on it.

Everything else is just...a perfect desktop distro IMO.
Slackware. The answer is Slackware. Whenever anyone is annoyed with their distro, that's where I tell them to go. Cause it's a nice old school change of pace to refresh yourself. Then you can either stick with it, or use it till you find a new distro. 🐧

The people at the other table are the moron Windows users who hate on Linux. I encountered some of them in the Steam Beta Client update comments in my feed yesterday, and I called their bullshit out. lol

World of Goo 2 announced for release in 2024
8 Dec 2023 at 1:59 pm UTC

World of Goo is great. I originally bought it as a Games for Windows Live game. But after Microsoft botched that and took my copy of it and Where's Waldo/Wally? away. I got it again on both Steam and Switch a couple years ago. I'll be getting this sequel for sure too, and I second the hope for native Linux support as well.

Quoting: Caleb_MIf only they could get SkyUI in their store, I'd come back in a heartbeat. Skyrim on deck sounds awesome. But SkyUI is absolutely required for me to enjoy it.
I wish Fall of the Space Core was on there too... ☄️
Do you people not know you can most likely install the mods from Nexus?? you are not stuck using the in game mod browser

Edit: NVM noticed that mod hasn't been updated but I do know SkyUI is on nexus updated for Skyrim SE
I use Nexus for mods. But even if it was updated for SE directly. I'd still rather use the in-game option or Steam Workshop if I could.

There's an SE workaround for Fall of the Space Core [External Link] though if anyone is interested at all.
