These are pretty good numbers actually, considering the 760 is supposed to be a more powerful card anyway.

I tried to find a source for that and stumbled on this instead: https://www.netmarketshare.com/ [External Link]
If you believe them, most of the world still uses IE… w3schools or statcounter [External Link] have very different statistics though.
The thing I was referring to was stat counter:

From June 2015. Apparently. South Korea is the only other country, which is also pretty odd.

Quoting: kit89I think the 'Japanese Games Industry has disdain for Linux' is one massive generalisation that doesn't have any facts to back it up.
Japan in general likes to stick to old things/tech/methods and that means software that was first introduced to them has them spoiled. We see this in many bad programming practices and overprotective nonsense when it comes to propietary technologies they cling to. Ownership had made them into obsessed old fogies. That is "most" of Japan, sadly.

You have to thoroughly study their culture and perhaps live there to understand the mentality. I like a lot of things that come out of Japan, but I'm not going to defend this as untrue.
Yup. I stick to my statement. You've summed it up in a nutshell. I mean, if you want to take it further you can also say there's a disdain towards PC gaming as opposed to console gaming, so Linux is already pretty far down the pecking order as it is.

Quoting: s8as8aCouldn't Virtual Programming's eON solve the porting problem for this game? In other words, couldn't they just also wrap the middleware, or is it not that simple?
There's always lots of options and it's always possible to port something if enough work is put in. The problem is in this case since there is a lot of middleware, it probably doesn't make economic sense for a small studio to embark on somehting which is quite complicated - especially in this case the signs show that the developers have no Linux porting experience.

I have no idea what the costs are for using something like eON, but I assume VP would take a healthy chunk of the profits, which might make it not worthwhile.

Noire crime thriller Blues and Bullets released for Linux on Steam
24 Dec 2015 at 1:13 am UTC

Wow, this looks really great! After the experience with Dreamfall Chapters though, I'm going to wait until at least 4/5 episodes are out - nothing against the game, I jsut can't really get into a plot if I have to wait a while between parts because my memory is pretty bad.

Will certainly get this once all five are out though, it has an excellent vibe to it.

GOL's Linux & SteamOS gamer survey results for December

I bet any money that the extra 5% of people buying Windows games is made up entirely of people who couldn't resits and bought Fallout 4. Can't blame them really, we'll probably never see it on Linux, which makes me sad.

Steam is having a whopper of a sale right now
22 Dec 2015 at 10:42 pm UTC

The only games I really want currently on sale are The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Banished... Neither have been released yet :(

Might pick up Skyhill and Armello if they go cheaper, but nothing else has caught my eye really. Will be playing Saint's Row which I bought yesterday :D
