Dying Light Linux Performance Patch & New DLC Released

Well, it now works with good framerates at high settings, but have this annoying issue where shadows appear and disappear very quickly right in front of me even when they're only a metre or two away. So going to have to wait for another patch... So close this time, it's such a minor issue but can see that getting soooo annoying even after a few minutes of playing that I'm not even going to bother.
Edit: Also the framerate might be high, but it's ridiculously unstable, going anywhere from 30-70fps even in the same limited area. Turning Vsync on stabilises it a lot, but then get maybe 40fps in parts where I was getting 50-60 without it on, still far from ideal.
Edit 2: Also, if I may be so bold as to make an assumption, I get the feeling Techland is using existing Linux users as playtesters for their "final" Linux version when Steam Machines come out. Every update is sort of "ok, now lets try removing AA and see what happens", "right, that didn't work so lets add it back in again". I don't really have a problem with that per se, but I still would call the Linux version a Beta build and the original release was an Alpha build and they should be a bit more forthcoming with that.
With Dead Island it was quite a bit worse considering the first 6 months or so following release had pretty much no looting and crafting since only a few items and weapons ever spawned. The game was a bit buggy, but I'd say missing one of its primary features in a way is worse than bugs, it's like selling a car without seats in it. I hope they get it together a bit more with their next game.

Downloading the patch now. If it's finally good enough, then I might start playing this through tonight, but don't want to make the same mistake I did with Dead Island and complete it while it was still really broken :P.

The architecture was basically my main criticism of the game, so it's nice to see they improved it a bit. I'm really hoping for some big DLC with a tonne of buildings from different architectural styles. I'd even be willing to do the classic Paradox thing of £3 for small DLC with one style per one or something so people could pick and choose.

Oh lame... Well we still don't have many car/racing games on Linux at all, I was quite looking forward to this one... I guess there's still GRID and Mad Max in the works.

I had the original Cyberia on the Glorious Sega Saturn back in the day. Been wanting to get my hands on it ever since because I never got further than the first 15 minutes of it. Might pick that up first and then if it's any good I'll get the second one :)
Oculus Has "Paused" Linux Development On The Rift VR Headset

Though I do think VR will fare a little better than those. I think it will just exist as a device for SOME games (the more "walking simulator" types), like sort of create its own VR genre and people who want to play those will use a VR set. Can't ever see it becoming "the future of gaming" though, usually when people say something is "the future", it goes the way of laserdisc and betamax.

Good job we have Valve/HTC for their VR headset eh! Personally, I'm really not that bothered by this, I still see VR that forces you to strap some device to your face as a fad.Yup, like motion controls, sound controls and all the other gimmicks which have been pushed on the public over the last 30 years.
