Spec Ops: The Line Looks Like It's Coming To Linux

I like the fact that it's 3rd person as well. Sick of first person being the de-facto thing nowadays, it usually means poor character development (with a few exceptions) or none at all because "you are the character". I have no fantasies of "being" some American guy shooting people with different shades of skin colour, but I am interested in seeing how such a character would be portrayed.

Quoting: LapinoplSweeet! A nice review from "Yahtzee" in case you need more info on the game : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNhPMjbgkXA [External Link]I hadn't seen that one before. Tbh, I completely overlooked this game as just another "spunkgargleweewee" shooter but if Yahtzee recommends its story, then there must be more to it and I might pick it up.

I did a forming Netherlands campaign with Friesland as well. Was one of the most fun, especially if you get a chance to colonise as well. Really good campaign!
Agree with all the "Paradox are great" sentiments. They really are :). Any of you going to play HOI4 when it comes out? I'm not too certain on it, it's probably my least favorite franchise of theirs (too much emphasis on warfare) but might give it another chance (Victoria is my favorite, the day Victoria III comes out will be the best day ever!).

The Prestor John achievement (Own Constantinople, Alexandria and Antioch as Ethiopia) was also really fun. Trying to contend with the Ottomans as an underdog is always a good challenge.I've heard the Ethopia one is great. I might do that one after I give it some thought (ie. how the hell do I deal with the Ottomans).
I'm currently going for a HRE dismantle as Friesland (after I form the Netherlands), unfortunately Burgundy is kicking France's arse at the moment, so taking my Dutch provinces is proving tricky.

Quoting: Maquis196Scotland for auld aliance reversed or Switzerlake? I'll always recommend Norway but thats a personal choice of favourite nationThose are pretty good suggestions! I think I prefer the Switzerlake one, just because I really enjoy the HRE mechanics and haven't played a HRE game since before The Art of War DLC. Thanks :)
Quoting: Maquis196Oh and I just got the Sun God cheevo as well, was fun :DYeah, it's a good campaign! I made the mistake of supporting Colombia in their war of independence though, so coring provinces on them ended up being much more expensive than intended. Otherwise I think I could have easily made my way up through Mexico I think.

Gives me more reason to start a new campaign soon I guess. Just don't know what that should be. I keep thinking I should play as either China or Japan, but my last two games have been with quite isolated countries and want to get back to where all the action is! (ie. in Europe or bordering it). If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Did you download the DLC? Did you get any of the new events? Let us know!I started a game where I tried to take all of South America as the Inca (and succeeded btw :D) but this patch came out after I started the game so haven't got to play it yet.

Quoting: barottoI had no Windows partition on my PC till 4 months ago. Then I bought a GTX970, a new SSD, upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 and (god, please, have mercy of my soul) installed Windows 8!I played Skyrim and all the DLC (apart from the vampire one) all the way through on WINE, with lots of graphics mods on my GTX 750ti. Was really stable for me!
Why?
Because of Skyrim (10€ on Steam, couldn't resist) and Elite Dangerous....

If people really want ports THAT badly, then stop dual booting and using wine for games. There's plenty of stuff to play on Linux, if you make a stand then there's a greater chance you'll get the games you want. It's a sad choice, but I think the time is coming when people need to choose between an OS and some games they like.

and I would assume most of those people also have access to a Windows or Mac device capable of playing Blizzard games. This is kind of true really, as much as I hate to admit it.

160/196 - with maybe 10 games on there I bought to play through Wine (only played 4 of those), i think the other Windows games are from bundles.
Stopped buying bundles now... Thanks Steam for the "hide from library" feature!
