Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Exits Beta For Linux, Some Thoughts & A Sale
27 Feb 2015 at 1:31 am UTC

I was pretty hyped for this game when they announced the port, then not so much because I really went off multiplayer games. But played this now and really enjoyed it! Most fun I've had in multiplayer since Guns of Icarus.

One thing I don't get though is that my framerate seems to be capped at 30fps for some reason. I've tried the settings at the highest and the lowest and always get 30fps. A 750 ti should be able to get 60fps no problem at highest settings so I can't find any other explanation that it being capped.

Is that happening to anyone else?

Try and get it from Games Republic so some of the money goes to GOL ;).

This looks amazing! I love dystopian-y games like this.

Also David Hayter doing some of the voices! All i'm going to be able to think when he's talking is "LIQUIIIIIIIID!!!!!!" - as long as Hideo Kojima didn't write it, we should be ok :P

Pre-orders for Cities: Skylines Stand At Nearly 2% For Linux Gamers

Quoting: Brian LinuxI love Paradox and I actually pre-ordered EUIV because I loved EUIII.
Same, actually that was the last game I pre-ordered.

I'm a bit more hesitant with this one though because Collosal Order develop (Cities in Motion) this with Paradox as publisher(and shareholder??). Everything Paradox touches is gold as far as I'm concerned and It's the only company I'd be willing to pre-order from as thanks for ruining my life through its amazing games, but have no experience with Collosal Order so I'll wait until launch.

Game looks great though.

Speculation: Shadow Of Mordor Appears In A Seemingly Linux Focused App Bundle On SteamDB

The way things are looking before GDC, I wouldn't be surprised if they just give a surprise launch like Sega did with the almighty Sega Saturn (RIP).

Those games wouldn't make a half bad Steam Machines launch bundaru, like the orange box but huge seemingly. Maybe these would come free with the purchase of a Steam Machine? Speculating my arse off here :P

For those who dislike speculation, live a little
I enjoy speculation when it's fun like with this or Feral and Aspyr ports. What I hate is bullshit alarmist stuff youtubers and certain game websites put out all the time as clickbait.

Valve Will Launch Own VR Device, To Be Shown At GDC
24 Feb 2015 at 2:01 pm UTC

always thought VR was some sort of fad
That's what I thought about tablets.... Then they took over the world. (They're still pretty pointless as devices though.)

I'm willing to try VR out, for all I know it might be good for certain types of games. My worry is that it just leads to a lot of games being really gimmicky like motion controls did.

Quoting: MayeulCI didn't understand how the link is related, but I would appreciate advice on gaming headsets; I'll probably open a forum post on this subject ^^
It wasn't related. This mouse I have pastes the last thing you copy if you press the mouse wheel too hard for some reason... So accident :).

I imagine this game will split the crowd into those who love it and those who hate it.
I reckon I'll fall into the "love it" category. Just need to get round to playing it though!

Quoting: liamdaweDidn't even notice the SteamDB comment, added it to the article to reduce any over hype people may accidentally get into ;)
I was joking about the HL3 comment btw, not gonna happen. Plus I'd much prefer Portal 3 anyway :D

EDIT:

Quoting: StyromaniacBatman: Arkham Origins is developed and published by Warner Bros. It's not unreasonable to expect this will be a native Linux release. Warner Bros has a good track record with Bastion, Transistor, and Gauntlet.
They also published Dying Light. Don't know how much influence publishers have in platform choices but I guess it must be some.

Clearly HL3 :P

Even though the WIndows games on there are probably for Streaming (or just to show the controller through Windows), it would be cool if even one of those turned out to be a surprise port.

Have a feeling a lot of cool stuff is going to happen at GDC Linux-wise.
