This is pretty useful stuff.

Would be cool if we could do a bit of benchmarking on GOL now and again as well. Like the unigene valley benchmark exists on Linux. Would be interesting to see differences between driver versions and the like on Linux.

550 - can't remember if that's good or not after 2 days, I think it is.

In all fairness though the lag issues seemed a lot better.

OpenMW looked more far along than I thought it was, might try it out sometime. I'll also try and stick around for more of the stream next time :)

Changed! Sorry, crossed wires there!

Quoting: scaineI've submitted the article to Reddit here: http://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/2r5pwk/the_hardware_survey_for_january_is_now_available/ [External Link]

I did it as a text submission so that I could link to both this article and the new survey. Sometimes I think that a straight link works better though. We'll see.
Thanks!

Quoting: liamdaweIt wasn't featured enough, so I've setup some automatic social posts for the next one across the month.

We need someone to post it to reddit too -> http://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/ [External Link] (I can't or people whinge at me for blogspam).
Great, thanks! The reddit thing would be great too, but not really me area of expertise so would be good if someone else did it.

Quoting: GuestThe link to the survey is kinda hidden at the very end of the article, and the title of the article also says “results”, so maybe some people think there is no link to any new survey.
That's a good point :) I fixed it in the article. No idea how to change the title though without making it really cumbersome... Ideas welcome!

Quoting: EikeThat's suprisingly few people taking part. Are they getting tired of filling it in every month?
I don't know... The one before this was a bit of a "one off" because the survey was on Reddit and got an extra 300-400 responses. Though I always see a lot more article views than survey responses, so I guess a lot of people just don't bother, which is a shame. It would be ideal to consistently have it above 1000.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get more people to fill this out, let me know! Or just post links in different places.

Quoting: rodvilThe link to the new survey is broken.
The editor for GOL has changed. For some reason it takes everything as an internal link, so thinks the address is gamingonlinux.com/goo.gl/vCuazq - I'll try and fix this ASAP.

For now just copy and paste goo.gl/vCuazq into the address bar.

EDIT: Fixed!

Linux Game Of The Year Awards Voting Open

Quoting: pd12I think you need a 'finals' showdown - take the top 10 games after a time period (30 days?) then do another vote on the top 10 games ... otherwise the votes get way too diluted - with so many games! xD
I agree with this, the vote is too split now. Maybe 30 days is too much though.
